YOU As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating an automatic stamping press to produce quality components while maintaining safety, efficiency and LEAN production goals. This position will follow the first shift schedule, Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm. Overtime, including additional days, may be required based upon business need. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time) Operate automatic stamping presses as needed to support department and company goals. Use powered hand tools to make adjustments to equipment as necessary. (70%) Communicate with department leadership regarding issues and improvements. Assist other associates with press set-ups and changeovers. (10%) Perform quality inspections to blueprints and specifications using provided precision measuring tools and maintain a clean work environment to meet 6S standards. (10%) Count, package and palletize finished product in accordance with work orders. Ensure auxiliary equipment is operating to standard. Pushing or Pulling - Pushing is exerting force upon an object so that the object moves away from the origin of the force. Static Strength - The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects. Trunk Strength - The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing. Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material - Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. Work Environment - Work environment is usually loud. Tools and Equipment - Scanner, company issued knives / cutters, electric and hand pallet jacks, mechanical hand tools.
