If you're interested in becoming a screener, one of the first things to consider is how much education you need. We've determined that 30.1% of screeners have a bachelor's degree. In terms of higher education levels, we found that 14.3% of screeners have master's degrees. Even though some screeners have a college degree, it's possible to become one with only a high school degree or GED.

Some places are better than others when it comes to starting a career as a screener. The best states for people in this position are Alaska, New Jersey, Illinois, and New York. Screeners make the most in Alaska with an average salary of $58,279. Whereas in New Jersey and Illinois, they would average $47,305 and $45,851, respectively. While screeners would only make an average of $45,150 in New York, you would still make more there than in the rest of the country.
