(Required) * Up to 1 year Clinical in Nursing experience (Required) * Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle * Registered Nurse Required * ACLS PALS may be required but is dependent on unit or department Preferred * Basic Life Support (BLS) Required Job Responsibilities: * Demonstrates organizational responsibilities. * Identifies areas for self-improvement through self-assessment and peer review. * Functions in roles and provides leadership on the unit as needed and requested. * Cooperates with instructors to facilitate learning experiences for students. * Demonstrates knowledge and is supportive of organizational and unit changes. * Supports organizational activities by participating in activities such as committees, staff meetings, councils. * Utilizes chain of command appropriately. * Build collegial relationships with physicians and other health team members. * Demonstrates autonomy in identifying opportunities for process improvement. * Evaluates the plan of care for patient based on optimal specific patient outcomes. * Documents the patient/family response to care including teaching. * Collaborate with the patient/family and with other members of the health care team, including physicians, to revise plan of care as needed. * Supervises the care that was delegated to other health care team members. * Implement plan of care for patients. * Provides a safe and therapeutic environment while maintaining patient's autonomy, dignity, and rights. * Determines plan of care based on ethical principles as outlined in the TriHealth Code of Ethical Business and Professional Behavior. * Acts as a patient advocate. * Delivers care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to patient diversity. * Seeks available resources to help formulate ethical decisions. * Prioritizes the workload according to patient's needs, requests, and the needs of the unit/facility. * Recognizes emergency situations, notifies appropriate personnel, and begins emergency measures. * Performs initial and ongoing assessment of patient and family. * Completes initial assessment tool. * Documents ongoing assessment per unit/TriHealth guidelines. * Communicates assessment findings to other health care providers as appropriate. * Includes health counseling and health teaching needs in assessment. * Performs technical skills according to policy and procedure and accepted standards within their area of practice. * Safely administers medications/treatments and monitors their effects. * Use all equipment in a safe, appropriate manner. * Plans care for patients and family based on assessment, standards of care, and optimal specific outcomes. * Initiates and individualizes appropriate patient care guidelines/plan of care or clinical pathways. * Updates current plan of care as needed based on patient/family input and healthcare needs. * Develops both short- and long-term goals with patient/family and healthcare team including discharge planning. * Communicates plan of care to others.
