How you can make an impact You will serve as a Geotechnical Expert and as a Technical Advisor to our project teams and clients on geotechnical aspects of landfills and other facility design, construction quality assurance (CQA), soil and groundwater remediation, and environmental engineering projects. As our Geotechnical Expert you will contribute to SCS by adapting your geotechnical engineering capabilities to the landfill and environmental consulting industry. Examples of geotechnical engineering as it applies to our practice include: Measuring and predicting settlement. Providing slope stability modeling for new and old landfills, embankments, and excavations. Conducting geotechnical/hydrogeological investigations for waste management facilities and other environmental projects. Siting, design and regulatory permitting of new and expanding landfills. Designing and preparing construction specifications for remediation, energy production, landfill and other waste management facility projects. Providing recommendations for structural design of foundations for various types of facilities and equipment. For construction projects, designing and planning construction quality assurance (CQA) activities to verify construction complies with design and permit requirements. Preparing proposals and cost estimates for new projects Providing geotechnical education and training to SCS staff Other duties will include: Driving customer-centric solutions by collaborating with your team to develop and implement strategies that prioritize customer needs and enhance their experience, reinforcing our commitment to exceptional service. Promoting collaborative excellence by encouraging cross-functional teamwork and open communication to achieve shared goals and drive individual, organizational, and client success. Developing relationships with a network of technical experts throughout the company. Supporting proposals by working with project managers and clients to understand their goals as well as technical needs and requirements. Actively attending conferences, presenting on technical topics, and being involved in professional associations and committees as appropriate. Taking a leading role and presenting at internal technical meetings. Qualifications Master's degree or Ph.D. in geotechnical engineering required. Must be a registered professional engineer in at least one state with the ability to apply for reciprocity in others where needed. 10+ years of related work experience required. 20+ years of related work experience a plus. Valid driver's license and driving record in good standing required. Pay Range USD $120,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.
