Graphic Design and Production Specialist, Scaling Index Insurance - Opportunities and Lessons, Arlington, VA
Tetra Tech 4.3
Arlington, VA job
The Gates Foundation funds a Tetra Tech-led study to examine the market for small-scale producer insurance, focusing on models, successes, challenges, and the role of subsidies, government, and technology. Small-scale producers, such as farmers and pastoralists, are crucial to the economy but face risks that threaten their livelihoods, particularly due to their reliance on rainfall and climate impacts. Climate change worsens these risks with unpredictable weather, damage, and losses. Insurance helps protect them and is supported by organizations like the World Bank, UNDP, WFP, IFAD, governments, and the private sector. Despite its benefits, few producers adopt insurance because of high costs, low financial literacy, distrust, and infrastructure gaps. New technologies, such as mobile platforms and data analytics, offer opportunities to address these barriers.
Position Summary:
The Graphic Design and Production Specialist will support with the development, editing, and design of the final report and other related resources on the project.
Responsibilities:
• Provide graphic design and production support for the final report development for the scaling index insurance project.
• Copy editing final reports and deliverables.
• Graphic design and other production support of deliverables and public documents.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field, required.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional graphic design experience, required.
• Minimum 3 years in a senior-level or lead design role, preferred.
• Demonstrated experience working in international development contexts, particularly supporting programs or organizations focused on climate change, food security, agriculture, sustainability, or environmental resilience, preferred.
• Proven experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, preferably within an agency, consulting firm, nonprofit, or multidisciplinary organization, preferred.
• Expert proficiency in industry-standard design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop; Figma or similar), required.
• Attention to detail and consistency, with a strong understanding of brand standards and visual systems, preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present and justify design decisions to stakeholders, required.

Graphic Design and Production Specialist, Scaling Index Insurance - Opportunities and Lessons, Arlington, VA
Tetra Tech, Inc. 4.3
* Provide graphic design and production support for the final report development for the scaling index insurance project.
* Copy editing final reports and deliverables.
* Graphic design and other production support of deliverables and public documents.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field, required.
* Minimum of 7 years of professional graphic design experience, required.
* Minimum 3 years in a senior-level or lead design role, preferred.
* Demonstrated experience working in international development contexts, particularly supporting programs or organizations focused on climate change, food security, agriculture, sustainability, or environmental resilience, preferred.
* Proven experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, preferably within an agency, consulting firm, nonprofit, or multidisciplinary organization, preferred.
* Expert proficiency in industry-standard design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop; Figma or similar), required.
* Attention to detail and consistency, with a strong understanding of brand standards and visual systems, preferred.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present and justify design decisions to stakeholders, required.
Tetra Tech is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified candidates will be considered without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a protected veteran, or any other characteristic protected by law.
