North Coast Seafoods seafood processor job description

Seafood Processors at North Coast are the backbone of our operation, making-up the majority of our workforce on the production floor. While duties and responsibilities vary based on department, the work of a Seafood Processor is what enables us to produce top-quality seafood products, at high-volume, to customers all over the country.

Seafood Processors learn most types of production duties within a given department and are trained to work efficiently and effectively. Most Seafood Processors work in teams on a production line. Duties include everything from trimming fish to operating machinery.

The PM Seafood Processors work a 3rd shift, starting in the early afternoon and work through the evening; may work past midnight (until production end).
Duties and responsibilities vary by department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence, and Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times.
* Inspect product for quality, grade, and sort by size.
* Pack product.
* Proper methods in all production areas.
* Maintain proper par levels as instructed.
* Communicate supply material levels.

* Maintain and proper use of production equipment.
* Keep work area clean at all times.
* Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Provide backup support for other duties as needed.

Qualifications

* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* Experience with utilizing food processing equipment, sanitation, food safety, and/or the safe operation of forklifts and powered pallet jacks is preferred but not required
* Experience with radio frequency handheld scanners and quality control is preferred but not required

* Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
