ROLE PURPOSE: Install, repair, improve, and maintain complex machinery and facilities to support the plant goals of safety, quality and productivity. Strives for optimal balance between cost of equipment maintenance and equipment reliability. * Perform equipment preventative maintenance activities. * Disassemble and reassemble machines assemblies and sub-assemblies to perform repairs. * Ensures equipment is repaired in accordance with specifications such as alignment specifications, lubrication cycles, tensions of belts and chains and wear tolerances of various assemblies. * Replace broken or defective machine and equipment parts. * Troubleshoot machines and equipment breakdowns to diagnose mechanical problems. * Support all requirements of SAP PM for work order maintenance (creation of notifications, confirmation, and closure) and labor tracking to enable gathering and evaluation of data by continuous improvement teams. * Provide startup support to lines when restarting from planned downtime events such as overhauls and die cleanings. * Other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications * Mechanical Experience Preferred. Relevant Military training or work experience will be considered in lieu of education. * 3 - 5 years industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment preferred * Experience with extrusion lines, slitters, presses, laminators and material handling systems preferred. * Mechanical, pneumatic and preventative maintenance experience * Ability to make precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, pi-tapes etc. * Basic understanding of machining processes such as lathe, milling, surface grinding, gear and keyway cutting, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and ability to use general machinist handbooks. * Use of basic hand tools and power tools * Basic understanding of HVAC systems * Computer knowledge and 1-2 years of Windows applications and SAP transactions experience preferred. * Flexible work hours for shutdown, call availability, on call process or projects within established guidelines.
