Our CSRs remove 55-gallon collection drums filled with saturated oil absorbent mats, PPE, and other items and replace them with new materials. This is a physical, fast-paced, outdoor position that involves driving over the road, lifting, and moving heavy objects frequently, and communicating with our logistics department. For this position, we offer two distinct pay rates depending on the role being performed. For work in the warehouse, the pay rate is approximately $18 to 20. SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNITY: Responsible for driving a mini-van to and from a variety of schools throughout IPS, transporting students with severe disabilities and accompanying staff to and from schools and community locations. Provides supervision and/or support to students with severe disabilities at various community locations. WHAT YOU'LL DO: * Follows the schedule as assigned by the USS Operations Coordinator for all community & School locations. * Operates the assigned mini-van, observing all safety regulations and traffic laws. * Reports all accidents immediately and completes accident reports as required. * Attends the IPS transportation division training as required. * Inspects and completes daily equipment review and log * Schedules preventive maintenance checks, completes and maintains pre-trip inspection log before each run, and reports defects to the proper authority. * Keeps the assigned van clean. * Maintains student discipline while en route, enforces regulations for student behavior, and reports undisciplined students to the principal and supervisor. * Maintains schedule as assigned by the USS Operations Coordinator, transporting only authorized students and staff members. * Is responsible for assisting students in boarding/exiting van, operating mechanical lift, transferring student from wheelchair to bus seat, assisting with harnesses, seatbelts, etc. * Assists students with severe disabilities with personal care issues, including toileting, wheelchair transfers, and eating. * Accompanies students and staff to/from community locations and job sites. * Assures that all appropriate restraint devices/systems are on the bus to meet student needs and are maintained in proper working order. * Responsible for complying with rules, regulations, and directions of the state of Indiana, Indiana State Police, and the Board of School Commissioners concerning pupil transportation and policies. * Holds and maintains a valid Indiana Driver's License. * Other duties as assigned.
