Reporting to the Parking Manager, the Shuttle Bus Driver transports students, faculty, staff, and visitors between the South Campus Park and Ride lots and the Main Campus. Drivers are responsible for the safe transportation of clients to and from various treatment-related locations, ensuring compliance with federal and state driving laws. In addition to their transportation duties, they play a crucial role in maintaining and updating transportation documentation. This is a union eligible position. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Transportation: Safely transport clients in company provided vehicle following all applicable federal and state driving laws. Maintain appropriate staff/client boundaries. Treat clients with respect and dignity; interact with them in a caring, non-judgmental manner, utilizing harm reduction and trauma-informed care principles. Comply with all health and safety protocols, especially against COVID-19. Warehouse: Participate in the delivery and pick up of various donated goods including furniture, food, clothing, etc. Load and unload trucks. Organize donated goods in the warehouse. Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure routine vehicle maintenance which include daily inspection and pumping gas as necessary. Ensure the cleanliness of the vehicle, both its interior and exterior, to uphold a polished and professional image. Administrative: Maintain vehicle usage logs and maintenance. Maintain accurate vehicle documentation with guidelines established by HealthRIGHT 360 to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements. Attend and participate in meetings. Complete all assigned training in a timely manner. QUALIFICATIONS Education, Certification, and Experience Valid California Class C Driver's license. Overview of the Driver role This hybrid role combines driving and warehouse support. The Driver/Warehouse Associate ensures timely delivery and return of samples between our Richmond warehouse, the corporate offices in San Francisco, and special project stores around the bay area, representing the company professionally while operating branded vehicles. Responsibilities include safe driving, following company safety and conduct policies, and supporting warehouse operations including but not limited to receiving, organizing inventory, preparing deliveries, and processing returns. Full-time Description The Roots Shuttle Program transports clients being released from custody to three drop-off points: Dublin/Pleasanton BART, Oakland Coliseum BART, and Eastmont Transit Center from 9 a.m. to midnight. Shuttles will make two round trips per hour to transport clients to drop-off points. The Shuttle Bus Driver is responsible for ensuring the safe transport of our passengers. This position requires strict adherence to schedules and transport-related laws and regulations. The Shuttle Bus Driver must also be able to diagnose and remedy basic mechanical issues that may arise. Duties and Responsibilities: Transport passengers to and from the designate route stops. Conduct safety checks on the shuttle bus before every use. Arrive at collection points prior to departure times. Confirm that all passengers are present, and record no-shows. Ensure adherence to passenger limits, both seated and standing. Avoid high-traffic and accident-prone routes, where possible. Record and report all major accidents and incidents to your supervisor. Check that passengers disembark at the correct destinations, and in a timely manner. Ensure that the shuttle bus is fueled, well-maintained, and presentable at all times. Observe all relevant traffic and safety laws. Attend all department and staff meetings as required. Requirements Competencies California Driver's License B with safe driving record. Must pass all requirements set forth by applicable transportation and State agencies and be able to provide proper documentation. Previous experience driving groups of people. Outstanding knowledge of applicable transport and safety codes. First Aid training is preferred. Working knowledge of pertinent car maintenance and restoration techniques.
