Executive Director, Marshall Leadership Institute (MLI)is a senior-level position designed for an experienced, execution-obsessed leader who wants to grow an organization that trains and develops diverse, uncompromisingly high-quality transformative school leaders and builds the capacities of others to do the same.
The Executive Director is responsible for leading the vision, design, planning, execution, and growth of the programs within the MLI. What You'll Do:
Program Design and Implementation
Set the vision and direction for the Marshall Leadership Institute.
Design the programmatic elements that enable the preparation of leaders, including overseeing curriculum development, planning, facilitation, and iteration of all programs and learning experiences for participants.
Lead program evaluation processes and iteration on program design.
Lead all elements of the process for making the Marshall Leadership Institute operationally sustainable, including sales, branding, facilities, partnerships, fundraising, account management, etc.
Build, manage, and develop a team (as needed and able, per program) and support them in successfully meeting program outcomes.
Cultivate a culture of collaboration and accountability amongst co-facilitators, school partners, and strategic stakeholders to ensure fidelity to the program model.
Program Growth
Gain strategic alignment on a vision and plan for the Marshall Leadership Institute.
Lead the vision to grow the Marshall Leadership Institute to reach program sustainability in collaboration with the Marshall Street Executive Director.
Engage with donors, partner schools, policymakers and other stakeholders, to share the vision for the Marshall Leadership Institute and to develop partnerships to support the growth and sustainability of the program.
Develop scalable leader development materials and ensure all programs have the systems and platforms necessary to implement efficiently and effectively.
Design, measure, and iterate on a scalable system for admissions and partnerships, and ensure recruitment and partnerships meet its annual targets.
Ensure the program meets annual fundraising and budgetary goals while working towards financial sustainability.
Represent the Marshall Leadership Institute by providing thought leadership and partnership in the field of educator preparation.
Data
Collaborate with necessary partners to design and implement dashboards to effectively track performance metrics annually.
Analyze data regularly with the Marshall Street Executive Director to monitor key metrics for each program and iterate on the program design and implementation.
Analyze data annually as part of the program evaluation process and to compare participant performance in MLI with defined performance metrics.
Ensure the program meets key metrics for quality and growth using continuous improvement processes to support the recruitment and retention of diverse candidates, and the effective development of values-aligned partnerships.
People and Partnership Management
Develop strong relationships with key MLI partners and strategically manage these partnerships in accordance with current goals.
Build, manage, and develop a diverse facilitation team, when applicable, and support them in successfully meeting program outcomes.
Plan effective curriculum design and facilitation preparation sessions to ensure partners and participants' needs and goals are being addressed while staying true to the MLI model.
When applicable, lead the process of attracting, developing, and retaining strong team members.
What You Need:

Position Summary:

UWBG offers day camp programs for 1st - 8th grade campers and volunteer and leadership training to high school students through the Junior Naturalist program.
Job Description: Lead and teach thematic environmental education programs for 1st - 8th grade campers in the Washington Park Arboretum, Center for Urban Horticulture, and/or Union Bay Natural Area. Our curricula integrate science, social-emotional learning, team building, art, and play. Serve as a mentor to high school volunteers and interns. Summer Naturalists will supervise, support, and lead activities in individual and team-teaching roles during the regular camp day and supervise and provide activities during after care. Shifts will vary each week with the earliest starting at 7:30am and the latest ending at 5:15pm with all staff working 8 hours per business day when camp is in session.
Dates: Training is held in mid-June with camp programs running from late June through late August.
General Duties: Plan, prepare, and teach age- and theme- appropriate lessons, activities, and games. Utilize the Washington Park Arboretum, Center for Urban Horticulture, and Union Bay Natural Area to create fun and dynamic educational and recreational experiences for campers.

* Arbitration - Assists Legal Counsel in preparing for and representing the University at arbitrations and third-party proceedings as required.
* Third-Party Proceedings - Investigates charges or complaints filed with third-party agencies. Conducts investigations into allegations contained with the charge. Interviews supervisors, witnesses, and other involved parties to assist in the preparation of a response to the charge. Provides assistance to legal counsel in responding to complaints and third-party proceedings, including Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), DC Office of Human Rights, and National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) charges. Represent the University at conferences, hearings, etc.
* Stays informed of current regulatory requirements and changes in legislation and court decisions impacting employee relations at the University. Monitors relevant updates from regulatory agencies and collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to recommend changes to policies or processes as needed.
* Manages communication of potential employment litigation and/or risks to legal counsel and consults with the Office of General Counsel on labor relations matters as needed.

Youth and Family Team: The University of Washington Botanic Gardens Youth and Family Education programs serve over 10,000 youth ages 2-18 and their families each year through family classes, school field trips, summer camp, preschool programs, and more. These programs take place at both UW Botanic Gardens properties (the Center for Urban Horticulture and the Washington Park Arboretum) as well as at various locations in the Seattle/greater Seattle community. Our curricula are designed to promote an appreciation of plants and the environment through fun, educational, outdoor learning experiences. Job Description: As a member of UWBG's Youth and Family Education team, you will lead outdoor, environmental education programs for preschool - 8th grade students, as well as family or community programs. Programs will be held primarily at the Washington Park Arboretum and occasionally offsite at partner school locations. Shifts will vary each week, depending on the programs being led, with most programs taking place Monday - Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be available.
General Duties: Under the general supervision, plan, prepare, and teach age and theme appropriate lessons, activities, games, and experiences. Utilize the Arboretum to create fun and dynamic educational and recreational experiences for preschool - 8th grade students and families.
Essential Tasks:
Prepare and facilitate thematic, culturally responsive, and age-appropriate experiences for groups of preschool - 8th grade students and families, using prepared curriculum and other UW Botanic Gardens Youth and Family educational resources.
Adapt activities to meet the needs of a wide range of learners, while considering overall program goals.
Lead programs in an outdoor setting in all kinds of weather
Ensure safety and well-being of program participants, including adhering to required health and safety precautions
Prepare, clean, and put away materials for programs
Participate in program debriefs with other team members
Communicate effectively with students, educators, adult chaperones, families, and other UWBG staff members
Collaborate with lead, administrative, support staff, and other Youth and Family Educators
Minimum Requirements:
High school graduation or equivalent and two years of instructional experience, or equivalent education/experience

About the Role:
Lakeside School, an independent coeducational day school located in north Seattle, Washington, is currently recruiting for an outdoor biking trip leader to lead trips for 7th grade students in May 2026 and high school students in August 2026.
Lakeside Middle School's Outdoor Program consists of 4-day, 3-night backpacking trips for 7th grade students, and 3-day, 2-night camping trips for 6th grade students. Lakeside Upper School's outdoor program consists of a 6-day, 5-night wilderness experience across a variety of different activities. The goals for the program are to help students:
Develop a sense of place in the Pacific Northwest:
Learn how to contribute as members of teams;
Practice problem solving;
Take physical, emotional, and social risks;
Learn the fundamentals of ‘wilderness' backpacking and camping and leave no trace protocols.
Responsibilities
The outdoor biking trip leader is one of two or three adults to co-lead, co-manage, and execute all aspects of the trip for a group of nine to eleven students. Core responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supporting student learning by facilitating group activities with a diverse group of students.
Supporting a diverse student body who will come into the program with a wide array of outdoors experience, including many students with limited or no outdoor experience.
Providing wilderness, camping, and biking expertise as well as teaching students relevant and appropriate skills and knowledge in these areas.
Managing risk appropriately to create a safe and supportive environment for all students.
Driving students to and from site and as needed during the trip, most likely on a minibus pulling a trailer (training provided).
Provide bicycle repair and maintenance on trips for students as needed, including fixing flats, broken chains, and other common issues.
The trips are planned as follows:
Leader training day - Monday May 11, 2026
7th grade prep day - Monday May 18, 2026
7th grade biking trip - Tuesday May 19 - Friday May 22, 2026

Olympic Biking trip prep day - Saturday August 15, 2026

Leaders must be available for the leader training day, the prep days and all days of the trip in which they are leading. Most trips will plan to depart around 8am on departure day and return by 4pm on return day, though some hours may vary depending on the trip. Leaders may need to stay later than 4pm to clean up after the trip on trip return days.
Requirements and Qualifications
Successful candidates should:
Be at least 21 years of age;
Have experience leading multi-day wilderness expeditions working with middle school age children;
Have experience working with diverse student populations and demonstrated equity and inclusion mindset. Candidates should be aware of their own identity and biases, consider how privilege impacts outdoor recreation spaces, and take into account student's varied exposure to the outdoors.
Have experience and willingness to contribute to all group activities;
Have training and/or experience in experiential/outdoor education;
Have experience doing bicycle maintenance and adjustments;
Have experience leading bicycle tours or other biking based trips or activities;
Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions. The candidate will understand different perspectives; interact respectfully with cultures other than their own; and cultivate meaningful relationships with people that have different cultural frameworks.
Must possess current Wilderness First Aid & CPR certifications at a minimum, though Wilderness First Responder is strongly preferred.
Willingness to be trained in and able to drive a mini-bus (15 passengers) preferred, but not required. (No special license required, drivers must be 25 years old.)

Compensation

General Description of Work
Whatcom Community College invites applications for part-time, Adjunct Faculty, Engineering Instructor position to teach engineering spring quarter 2026. Additional opportunities may become available in 2026-2027.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* A master's degree in engineering or closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience and/or preparation for teaching calculus-based Electric Circuits (analog) with a laboratory component.
* Commitment to excellence and quality in learner-centered instruction.
* Experience with a learning management system.
* Actively contributes to a work and learning environment that embraces diversity and uses diverse perspectives to enhance the attainment of the College's mission and vision.
* A willingness to meet with current engineering faculty to discuss class materials and resources, lab equipment, and/or teaching strategies.
Salary
Salary:
* $9,886.00 per class for spring quarter 2026.
Benefits:
* Accrues a percentage of 7 hours (equal to the percentage of workload) per month of sick leave (ex. 50% quarterly employment contract x 7 hrs for full-time = 3.5 hrs per month for that quarter.)
Start Date:
* Spring quarter 2026. April 7th, 2026 is the first day of the quarter.
