High Voltage Electrician Responsibilities: * Repair, test, maintain or install the campus medium and high voltage distribution system according to accepted electrical safety standards. * Splice various types of high voltage multiphase power cable. Perform straight splices and joints for branch lines and fittings for terminal connections. * Prepare high voltage systems to be worked on by contractors including de-energizing high voltage equipment installing protective grounds. * Respond to emergency situations such as power outages in order to minimize or prevent loss of property, damage to research activities or disruption to life safety systems. * Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications * Minimum 01 journey level status as an electrician. * Experience troubleshooting, operating and maintaining medium voltage distribution systems (15KV), and 600 volt building electrical systems and building elevators. * Documented experience troubleshooting and operating buildings' electrical systems. * Must have a valid vehicle driver's license. * Must be able to read blue prints, schematics and drawings. * Demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision. * Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills. * Demonstrated ability and/or experience working collaboratively with students and/or colleagues to foster a supportive and effective learning and work environment. * OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
