I am a driven public sector communications leader with 25 years of public relations experience, a master's in Strategic Communications and a passion for informing community conversations.I am proud to be a part of the work of Second Harvest Heartland, one of the nation's largest, most efficient and most innovative hunger relief organizations. Most recently, I lead external communications for the Health Care Administration at the Department of Human Services. In my first year of service I helped lead Minnesota’s Affordable Care Act conversation, placing over 40 media stories focused on DHS analysis and data.My recent roles as communications director for College Possible and Child Care Aware of Minnesota have focused my attention on all aspects of marketing. I led these organizations to double and triple digit increases in web visitors, respectively; worked with senior leadership to roll out six increasingly successful marketing plans; and led teams across the country to ensure the marketing tools I provide deliver on-the-ground success. Strong relationships, across partners, funders, peer organizations and state agencies have provided the framework for this success.

Megan (Astry) Muske is a Chief Development Officer at SECOND HARVEST HEARTLAND and is based in Minnesota. She has worked as President, Courage Kenny Foundation at Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute; Director, Allina Office of Philanthropy at Allina Health; and Director of Foundation Operations and Campaigns at Children s Minnesota. Megan works or has worked as Reunion Giving Chairperson at St. Olaf College and Director of Development, System Philanthropy at ALLINA HOSPITALS & CLINICS. She studied at St. Olaf College between 2000 and 2004.
