Qualifications
Required:

Essential Responsibilities:
Installs, inspects, and performs modifications and repairs to electrical power support systems such as electrical power plants and power distribution equipment.

**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Installs, inspects, and performs modifications and repairs to electrical power support systems such as electrical power plants and power distribution equipment.
+ Knowledge of the maintenance, repair and certification of aircraft arresting systems, including electrical, hydraulic, rewind, and pneumatic systems, and other electronic components.
+ Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and repair electrical power support systems including diesel, multi-fuel, or gas engines, and electrical accessories of engines.
+ Maintains, inspects, repairs, diagnoses, and modifies aircraft arresting systems.
+ Maintains records and documents actions. Certifies aircraft arresting system in service after aircraft engagement and/or major civil works.
+ Performs standard computations relating to load requirements of electrical circuits.
+ Proficient in the use of electrical hand tools and test and measurement equipment.
+ Certifies on-the-job training for less experienced personnel.
+ Knowledge of principles of electricity (AC/DC), solid state circuitry, and safety rules and regulations pertaining to powered suppo1t systems. Knowledge of the theory and operation of internal combustion diesel and gasoline engines.
+ Knowledge of the operation of emergency generator power systems. Knowledge of regulations, procedures, and policies related to records maintenance and documentation.
+ Skill in reading, interpreting, and using wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, technical orders, technical publications, and similar guides.
+ Must be able to distinguish colors and shades of colors.
+ Skill in troubleshooting complex situations related to electrical power generators. Ability to apply shop procedures, policies, written and oral instructions, and directives sufficient to provide training to others.
+ Must be able to obtain an airfield driver's license.
+ Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
**Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Must possess 7-level task qualification in USAF 3E072 and/or WG5378 civilian equivalent to include Generator and Aircraft Arresting Systems.
+ Must be able to obtain and retain a Nevada driver's license.
+ Must accomplish OSHA 10-Hour Construction Training.
+ Must maintain CPR/First Aid card.
+ Must have the ability to obtain and retain a security clearance and access to the work location(s).
+ Respond to service calls within the allowable time frame.
+ The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle up to a 2 1/2-ton truck.
+ The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
+ Emergency overtime may be required.
+ Must be willing to travel/work in remote or other designated areas up to 50% of time.
