About the Role: As a Valuation Actuarial Intern, you'll be an integral part of a collaborative, agile team. You'll design, analyze, and implement innovative solutions that drive efficiency and exceed expectations. The Valuation Actuarial Intern reports to the Actuary and can be based out of our office in Topeka or Overland Park, Kansas. We work a hybrid schedule, offering flexibility to work both remotely and on-site.
Conduct data manipulation, organization, and analysis
Assist with updating and improving reports, spreadsheets, and documentation
Develop and utilize tools in support of reserve calculations
Take on special projects as assigned
What We're Looking For:
Students eligible for the internship will be current, fulltime students available to work 10 - 20 hours a week, beginning immediately. The intern will be expected to work during and in between semesters, including full-time over the summer. This is not a summer only internship.
Full-time college student in Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Finance or Computer Science at the sophomore to graduate level
Commitment to pursue an actuarial credential demonstrated by preparation for Society of Actuaries-administered exams or exam credit preferred
Advanced Excel knowledge/skill required including functions and macro creation, editing and use
Demonstrated ability with Visual Basic coding, Access, SQL and/or C++ preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong GPA in major and in all areas of study
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines required

Management candidates will begin their employment in our extensive hands-on Manager Training Program. Our paid training program allows candidates to further develop their leadership skills while also preparing them to fulfill a management-level position in the Oil Change department. Interns will engage in a rigorous and dynamic training program that includes lectures led by members of the criminal justice community and participation in several simulated practicums throughout the summer. Every effort will be made to provide each intern with a substantive writing assignment that may be used as a future writing sample in job searches.
In addition, interns will benefit from robust networking opportunities designed to support their professional development and career growth. These opportunities may include small-group conversations with Assistant District Attorneys, panels featuring senior leadership, exposure to specialized units across the Office, and meet-and-greets with members of the broader criminal justice community. These engagements allow interns to build meaningful connections, explore potential career paths, and gain deeper insight into the work of a large urban prosecutor's office.

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Software Engineering Intern to join our team. This internship provides hands-on experience in various software engineering functions including software development, DevOps, and quality assurance. Responsibilities:
Assist in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications

Qualifications:

Interns work full-time, in-person, Mondays through Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Interns are assigned to a specific bureau within the Office. They are directly supervised by an Assistant District Attorney.
Job Responsibilities:
Through our student practice order, interns may have the opportunity to appear on the record at arraignments, calendar calls, hearings, and trials. Interns will observe and assist with witness interviews, hearings, and trials, listen to and transcribe 911 calls, and review police reports. They will participate in the decision-making process regarding offers and aid in plea negotiations. The interns will participate in a vigorous and engaging training program, including attendance at lectures given by members of the criminal justice community and participation in several simulated practicums throughout the program. Finally, every effort will be made to give each intern a writing assignment that can serve as a writing sample for job searches.
Qualifications:
Current Law Student: 2L-JD class of 2027
Completion of a Criminal Law class
Demonstrated interest in public service, criminal law, and litigation
Selected candidates will have to pass a background check before the start of the internship
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
Must be able to commit to the entire eight-week internship program
