The Security Specialist is responsible for performing security and safety functions within a cannabis cultivation facility. As a Security Specialist, you are responsible for providing critical security and administrative support to management. Security Specialists may be cross-trained and asked to support other departments occasionally to meet business needs. This is a part time position at $20 out of our Rocky Hill (CTPharma) facility - depending on delivery route, likely 4 to 5 hours per day, 7am-Noon but may vary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Check in all employees, visitors, vendors, and deliveries. * Ensure all visitors, vendors, and delivery drivers sign in on the sign-in sheet. * Scan IDs and provide temporary badges to visitors, vendors, and delivery drivers. * Maintain all hard copy and digital logs of scanned IDs, sign-in sheets, and all facility logs. * Provide general support to visitors, vendors, and delivery drivers. * Review surveillance video of events and create/maintain event logs from all security systems. * Create new badge access cards for new employees, visitors, and vendors. * Alert management for required support on all security systems-skyline cameras, Strat security/fire alarms, and internet connectivity. * Coordinate delivery schedules and outgoing office shipments with management. * Monitor and maintain quality control measures in accordance with state and local laws. * Adhere to company policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). * Maintain a clean and safe working environment within the facility and production areas. * Immediately inform Security Manager of any system discrepancies. * Document all activity using company's track and trace system. * Work within company continuous improvement system and strive to increase productivity. * Check in and check out all van keys for drivers. * Give all cash to Human Resources or appropriate party for accounting. * Schedule weekly armored vehicle pickups for cash deposits from order fulfillment. * Ensure door is locked during any time cash is out. * Coordinate with corporate's finance department to ensure all cash is accounted for. * Accept cash from all delivery drivers on every delivery and store in safe. * Perform other duties as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications * Previous experience in security operations and procedures required. * Must have a positive attitude and work well with others in a team environment. * Willing to learn about, operate, and maintain facility equipment in a safe manner. * Have strong verbal and written communication skills. * Must be authorized to work in the United States. * Must be 21 years of age or older and able to successfully register with the state's cannabis commission as an agent. * Must comply with all laws, regulations, and policies associated with the industry. The Safety Associate supports the Campus Safety and Guest Services teams to strive for a safe environment for our guests and staff. ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES * Works with Safety, Operations, Facilities, and Guest Services to support guests while promoting a safe campus for all. * Educates and informs on safe practices as it may relate to health and safety concerns * Patrols all buildings, parking lots and property and occasionally monitors the camera, identifying risks and noting unusual occurrences and notifying appropriate parties as needed. * Greets on campus visitors and vendors in a welcoming manner, and requests they sign in and any other appropriate verification; ensures appropriate parties are notified that visitors and vendors are onsite. * Responds to and documents accidents/incidents; completes detailed reports by the end of every shift. * Monitors alarm systems in all buildings, responds to all emergencies, and initiates evacuation procedures as outlined in the Kripalu Safety Associates Handbook when needed. * Assists with first aid for guest and staff, but only provides treatment within scope of training. Hamilton College invites applicants for the position of Part Time Alternate Campus Safety Officer. This is a part time, non-benefit position with no set schedule, with a pay rate of $20.25 per hour.
