GENERAL PURPOSE
The Corrections Officer position is responsible for maintaining order and securing inmates in the County Jail.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
This position reports directly to a Corrections Supervisor - Sergeant and Corrections Supervisor - Lieutenant, and/or other higher level supervisory officer as designated.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION

Processes incoming inmates.
Conducts searches within the facility and searches of inmate cells in accordance with established policies, regulations, and/or procedures.

Makes required rounds to check safety and welfare of inmates.

Enters information into the Jail's computer system.
Reviews and interprets Court orders, remands, and releases.

Uses weapons, handcuffs, and minimum amount of physical force to maintain discipline and order among inmates in situations which necessitate.
Learns names and identification numbers, and recognizes faces of problem inmates, by observing and receiving information from other officers so that such persons can be closely observed. Briefs officers on incoming shift as to unusual activities and inmate status.
On reporting to work, attends shift briefings and reads bulletins issued by the department or institution to keep abreast of changes in policies/regulations, and to receive work assignments.
Directs inmates in housekeeping duties in the cell block area such as sweeping/mopping of floors, making beds, and dusting/vacuuming to maintain sanitary conditions.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - Completion of a high school, or general equivalency, diploma; AND
Corrections Officers are required to possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; AND
Preferred age requirement is twenty-one (21) years of age. We will consider applicants between eighteen (18) and twenty (20) years of age based on maturity and documented work experience, education and/or military experience.
MEDICAL EXAMINATION - a post offer medical examination, including a urine drug screen, is a requirement for employment. Any medical or physical condition or defect which would cause the officer to be a hazard to himself, herself or others, or become aggravated as a result of the performance of these duties, will be cause for the offer to be rescinded.
Corrections Officers assigned to Special Teams must pass a physical agility assessment test on an annual basis.
PERSONALITY INVENTORY - A pre-interview Personality Inventory exam must be completed. Failure to demonstrate sufficient capacity to perform duties of this position may be cause for the offer to be rescinded.

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Events and Security & Security Manager, the Event Security is responsible for maintaining the safety of the PPL Center, employees, patrons, and visitors. Event Security staff enforce all rules, regulations and policies of the PPL Center.
This role pays an hourly rate of $14.00 to $15.00

Responsibilities
Provide excellent service to all guests, staff, and visitors of PPL Center
Follow and enforce PPL Center policies, procedures, and code of conduct to protect the safety and well-being of all guests and the facility
Monitor entry and exit points to various areas of PPL Center, both public and back of house, having knowledge of all rules and regulations for admittance to your area and knowledge of authorized credentials
Screen employees, vendors, and guests and their personal property while properly operating and monitoring metal detectors, to include hand wand and contact searches as required or requested
Take proactive measures to maintain safe habits and standards
Investigate incidents as required, in such situations as injuries, property damage, theft/loss and misconduct
Quickly respond to any crowd control/management issues, break up physical altercations, provide escorts to unruly guests when ejections are warranted;
Aid in the orderly evacuation of PPL Center during emergencies
Provide security escorts when requested and/or required
Have knowledge of building layout, including restrooms and exits
Inform Supervisor of developing issues before they occur
Assist in seating discrepancies and clearing aisles
Be aware of all special functions or activities that occur in the arena
Write detailed reports to maintain accurate records in the event of further investigation or litigation in the future
Qualifications
Prior security experience preferred, but not required.
Able to work PPL Center events as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Strong oral and written communication skills in the English language required
Ability to work beyond traditional business hours, including nights, weekends and select holidays, is required
Must demonstrate strong attention to detail
Must demonstrate a positive, professional, and customer-focused attitude

Position Summary:
A Security Technician I is responsible for overseeing and maintaining a safe and secure environment for BioSpectra's personnel, property, and assets. The security officer may also manage and/or implement security protocols related to the storage of confidential information and documents. Overnight shift, varying schedule.
Major Roles and Responsibilities:
• Greets visitors, contractors and registers each at facility entrance in accordance with Building Access and Security SOP. Contacts proper personnel to escort them inside the facility.
• 24/7 CCTV surveillance and alarm system monitoring. Saves incident surveillance for future review.
• Monitor television and Internet resources, within the guidelines of the BioSpectra Information Services Usage Agreement, for impending weather and traffic conditions.
• Run daily test to ensuring all CCTV(s) are functional; report technical malfunctions
• Log daily activities, incidents and alarm activities into the pass-down log
• Receives vendors and delivery vehicles. Directs vehicles to appropriate dock or parking location in accordance with communication from Supply Chain staff.
• Verifies shipments entering and exiting the facility grounds are authorized to do so and are secured
• Escorts and supports pest control service
• Answers, and transfers, internal and external phone calls in accordance with BioSpectra policy
• Maintains clean workspaces
• Prevents loss and damage by ensuring trespassers and/or risks are mitigated
• Completes security incident reports in a timely manner
• Completes debris, ice and snow removal to prevent risk to traffic
• Maintains employee roster for entering and exiting applicable facility for emergency responses activities.
• Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, building and facility access points
• Dispatch Security personnel to all alarm notifications to investigate alarms.
• Ensures swift and effective communication of any emergency on site to applicable leadership or emergency responders
• Performs escorting responsibilities for visitors or contractors entering the facility, when applicable
• Assists with medical, fire and security emergencies, calling and/or coordinating with emergency services and local authorities
• Maintain active communications and transfers through phone and radio to security officers.
• Receives regulatory agents and communicates their arrival in accordance with BioSpectra procedures
• Completes AED, fire extinguishers, spill kits, eye wash, and first aid stations inspections
• Assists Human Resources with sensitive events.
• Staying up-to-date with changes to security regulations and industry best practices, and making recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; previous law enforcement or military background preferred.
• Experience on a security team with CCTV usage or a similar role in a corporate or industrial setting.
• Knowledge of security protocols and emergency response procedures.

Compensation Options

Commissions earned during the probation period will be banked and used to offset the draw beginning on day 91.
Expense Reimbursement:
$100 for weekly meeting/training attendance during 90-day probation period
$100 / week for gas/travel (After 90-day probation period - company credit card will be provided instead for fuel, and to assist homeowners with housing, food, and clothing.)
Level 2 (full-time & part-time positions): Non-RPO Candidates: Commission Only + Expenses
