Duties
During the course of their careers, Uniformed Division Officers carry out assignments in protection. Duties include:
Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.
Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required.
Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
Be at least age 20 and less than age 37 at the time you receive a conditional offer of employment, unless you have previous service in a Federal Civilian Law Enforcement position covered by special law enforcement or firefighter retirement provisions, including early or mandatory retirement. Applicants with veteran's preference must receive a conditional offer of employment prior to reaching age 40 to continue in the application process.
Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory.
Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye.
Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz ranges. Applicants must be able to hear the whispered voice at 15 feet with each ear without the use of a hearing aid.
Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position.
Complete 12 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA or Artesia, NM and 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.

POLICE OFFICER - LATERAL:
At least 12 months experience, within the last 36 months, as a full-time, paid, commissioned Police Officer.
The 12 months of experience will be waived if the applicant has successfully completed a state law enforcement academy that is recognized by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC) and was released due to budgetary constraints and eligible for rehire by that former agency.
Lateral Police Officers with experience in Washington state must have successfully passed a WSCJTC Basic Law Enforcement Academy or its equivalent recognized by the WSCJTC.
Lateral Police Officers with experience not attained at an agency in Washington State are required to pass the WSCJTC Basic Law Enforcement Equivalency Course.

Essential Job Functions:
Warn or expel violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, drinking, drug use and criminal activities.
Report irregularities to the supervisor and complete a DAR (daily activity report) on the provided tablet
Log all activities, vendors, and contractors
Monitor and assist in the enforcement of property policies and federal, state and local laws
Prepare incidents reports, such as property damage, unusual occurrences, criminal activities, suspicious circumstances, injuries
Assist in preliminary investigations.
Assist local law enforcement as requested
Maintain a visible and accessible presence among customers and employees to create a sense of security to deter potential problems and to answer questions
Perform customer service continuously

What You'll Do:
Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities.
Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas within the financial institution to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
Maintain a visible presence while patrolling to help to deter potential threats within the facility.
Communicate clearly and promptly with team members, supervisors, and client representatives regarding security-related matters.
Document observations, incidents, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal and client policies.
Follow all protocols related to the carrying and use of authorized firearms as specified for armed posts.
Minimum Requirements:
Have 1 or more years of law enforcement experience or 2 or more years of security supervisor or manager experience or 3 or more years of security experience.
CPR certification is preferred.
An armed guard card or license is preferred.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
