Have knowledge of any life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV system computer, and other such equipment to complete job assignments. Ensure continuous and safe operation of all elevators and access doors. Know authorized contractor personnel who are responsible for maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
Ensure training and compliance guidelines are met as outlined by AFS and other agencies regulating the customer / market.
Communicate on a daily basis with Security Supervisor any new Security Issues or changes that need to be considered or implemented.

Ability to become certified in CPR / AED /First Responder within 12 months of the start date. Demonstrated interpersonal skills including reliability, communication, the ability to actively listen, work on a team, receive feedback, and have professional and courteous interactions with a variety of constituents. Must be proficient in writing and speaking in the English language and have a demonstrated ability to successfully communicate clearly and effectively by phone, in writing, on a radio and face to face. Demonstrated computer skills including ability to use Microsoft Word and Outlook, and the capacity to learn other computer applications. Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle and be insured by the University. Must successfully pass a background screening including criminal history, driving history, reference checks, and a pre-employment physical and drug-screen. Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree or higher. Current PA Act 235 or 120 certification. Current CPR / AED /First Responder certification. Previous experience working in security on a college campus. Knowledge of the Clery Act.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES This is a substitute role- not for regular shifts, but rather for filling in when coverage is needed. * Security monitoring, patrol and respond to security problems. * Provide direct contact to the public at the main entrance and check identification of visitors entering the schools.
* Positively represent the school and provide general assistance/information to visitors.
* Monitor district buildings and grounds to protect against illegal entry, acts of violence, vandalism, illegal drug activity, arson, and theft.
* Conduct regular inspection of windows, doors, and other at assigned point of entry to ensure that they are secure.
* Monitor school grounds to observe unauthorized persons of vehicles, parking violations, and overall security of the outside area including exterior lighting and emergency access routes.
* Detain unauthorized persons; call for administrative and/or police assistance in accordance with the district's security plan/crisis management plan.
* Participate in the district's/school's emergency and crisis management plan as assigned.
* Notify police, fire department, or other appropriate authority of any situation requiring immediate attention.
* Accompany students to the main office when needed.
