The screening provides security for the aircraft, airports, air carriers and staff. QUALIFICATIONS: A. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1. High School diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent. 2. Previous airline experience preferred. 3. Previous experience in security, military, customer service preferred. 4. Must be a U.S. citizen. 5. Must be 18 years of age or older. 6. Must have reliable telephone and transportation. B. PERSONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Treat all information as confidential. 2. Possess the tact to deal with all levels of situations, client representatives, employees and the public. 3. Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English. 4. Escort all catering carts from the time the monitoring/inspection is completed until the carts are loaded onto the transport vehicle. 11. After concluding the search and loading, close and seal all carts with tamper evident security seals. 12. The air carrier or representative meeting the carts at the aircraft will inspect the seal for signs of tampering prior to breaking it. 13. In the event a seal shows signs of tampering or are discovered broken, the suspect cart must be searched for weapons, explosives, and other dangerous devices prior to loading on aircraft. 14. All seals must be stored in a locked container and protected from unauthorized access. 15. Notify or ensure immediate Law Enforcement Officer and/or Airline Ground Security Coordinator notification when necessary. 16. Ensure safe handling of dangerous or deadly weapons/objects discovered until arrival of the Law Enforcement Officer. 17. Contact Law Enforcement Officer if items of contraband (illegal items) are discovered during the screening process. Maintain control of items until arrival of the L.E.O. 18. Report all Government tests, real weapons, injuries and other major incidents to supervisor immediately. 19. Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs. 20. Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff and public in a courteous manner. 21. Attend meetings and in-services as required. 22. PRIMARY PURPOSE: Ensure a high degree of safety and security for McKinney ISD students, staff, visitors, and property. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Monitor district video surveillance system and maintain recorded log of camera activity * Ensure schools are properly and adequately secured by conducting facility checks and monitoring the district * Report damage, unlocked doors or windows, and/or any unusual incidents at the facilities * When needed, secure buildings to prevent entry * Log, maintain, and track data pertaining to the operation of all district life safety systems * Communicate all logged activity to the Director of Safety & Security * Monitor, log and make appropriate notifications regarding any life safety systems issues or notifications made to the monitoring station regarding any emergencies via phone, in person or radio communications * Monitor all fire alarm activity and report any activity, which could result in danger to students, staff, and buildings * Monitor and open and close buildings for any scheduled after hour's activities * Stop and or report any activity that is a security risk * Make written reports of security violations * Communicate and follow-up with campus staff on any request for assistance * Assist camera technicians on resolving camera positioning and focusing issues * Monitor two-way radio emergency channels and serve as primary point of emergency contact and district central communications hub * Maintain and clean district vehicle daily * Maintain professional standards of conduct * Practice high standards of safety in the performance of all duties * Manage emergency situations as they occur * Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor within the line of authority SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors Equipment Used: Two-way radio communications system, camera monitors, video software management systems, intrusion alarm systems, building access control systems.
