The hours for this position will be from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday - Friday. Monitor surveillance and security panel alarm systems, communicate necessary information to the supervisor, and facilitate the appropriate emergency response
Assist with safety drills and audits as scheduled
Compile and submit incident reports and other daily reports as required by the supervisor
Assist with dismissal duty daily and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must be SSO or SRO Certified, OR must be certified within 60 days of hire.
Must maintain all required licenses, endorsements, training, and certifications, including, but not limited to, basic first aid, AED, CPR training, Virginia School Security Officer (SSO) Certification, etc.
General knowledge of practices concerning the protection of school buildings and grounds
Ability to recognize and identify activities or situations that have or may become a problem or emergency requiring immediate attention

* Evaluate cross-domain interfaces and coordinate with Navy Cross Domain Security Office (NCDSO) for TAB and DSAWG approval documentation.
* Review system and software architectures to identify weaknesses, misconfigurations, or risks to confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
* Develop and recommend countermeasures to mitigate identified vulnerabilities and maintain zero-trust principles.

Primary Purpose:

Operates all electronic surveillance equipment in the security control room.

Required Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent is preferred. 1+ year of work experience is required; experience in a security-related field is preferred. This position requires that the incumbents work a flexible schedule, including evenings/nights, holidays, and weekends. Must be able to work collegially and independent of intensive supervision. Working Conditions:
Mainly works indoors in a busy office area, and is subject to frequent interruptions, but will be required to conduct rounds and other activities which will require outside work, including in inclement weather conditions (heat, cold, and humidity). Because this is an essential position to the operation of the Museum, incumbents may be required to stay beyond their scheduled hours in the event of emergency, and will be required to report to work in the case of inclement weather. Inspects inside and outside of facility to identify and isolate existing or potential sources of security, injury, or health hazards.
Uses two-way radios to communicate with other staff members.
Responds to visitor and staff needs/concerns in timely, courteous manner, maintaining confidentiality as necessary.

Required Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent is preferred. 1+ year of work experience is required; experience in a security-related field is preferred. Must be dependable, able to follow detailed procedures, and possess strong work ethic. Must be able to communicate effectively and appropriately in written and spoken English. This position requires that the incumbents work a flexible schedule, including evenings/nights, holidays, and weekends. Must be able to work collegially and independent of intensive supervision. Must be able to multi-task.
Working Conditions:
Mainly works indoors in a busy office area, and is subject to frequent interruptions, but will be required to conduct rounds and other activities which will require outside work, including in inclement weather conditions (heat, cold, and humidity). Because this is an essential position to the operation of the Museum, incumbents may be required to stay beyond their scheduled hours in the event of emergency, and will be required to report to work in the case of inclement weather. Required to comply with uniform standards and appearance guidelines at all times while on shift.

The Security Monitor I, Community Corrections is responsible for the supervision of the facility population including but not limited to safety, security and facility sanitation. Monitor resident population and reports any suspicious activities or violations of policy, procedures, or regulations by residents or other individuals.
Conduct resident counts, searches, room inspections, and vehicle searches as required. Conduct drug and alcohol testing as needed or as directed by facility administration.

Monitor resident worker activities, provides necessary instruction, and applies standards and procedures for the completion and quality of work performed by residents, where applicable.
