Security Position Summary: Responsibility for the safety and security of the House, including the Perry Wing and the Health Care Center, and all residents, employees, family members, and guests. Essential Functions:
At the main reception center (House entrance), answers radios, resident room alarms, doorbell, telephone, screens all persons entering the House, sorts mail, records prescription deliveries, packages, etc.
At the Health Care Center door, answers radios screens all persons entering through the door and accepts package deliveries.
Responds to the needs of residents. If medical attention is required, summon nursing staff and assist as directed.
Responds to internal and external disasters and emergencies according to procedures in facility emergency manuals. Assists ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents down stairways and out of the building when evacuation is necessary.
Makes internal and external rounds when on the second (4:00 pm to 12:00 pm) indicated by the security log list. Rounds shall be made on a varying schedule, with no more than one hour between rounds. Each round consists of a 40-50-minute tour and a 10-15-minute break at most. Then, the next tour starts. Checks all areas thoroughly and records findings in the security log and/or House log book as necessary.
Reports any critical information to the Director of Security and the CEO as needed.
Monitors newspaper, AM radio/weather radio/TV for any potential risks to MJ House, its residents, employees, and visitors at various times while on duty. Reports all necessary information to CEO, Department Managers, and Supervisors via phone/e-mail/2-way radio as needed.
