(Morgantown, WV, Parkersburg, WV , Hagerstown, MD, Winchester, VA, and Marietta, OH) WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: We are looking for a Regional Philanthropy Partner who will meet fundraising goals and objectives and connect with our donors to serve our mission. In this role, you will identify, engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective regional donors in expanding their financial support of the work of the American Red Cross. The incumbent is responsible for managing a large donor territory that extends from Parkersburg and Wheeling, WV to Hagerstown, MD, and Winchester, VA inclusive of all points in between. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD: Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward current and prospective donors throughout the Ohio River Valley, North Central West Virginia and the eastern panhandle, western Maryland, and northeast Virginia. Manage an assigned portfolio of approximately 100 corporate, foundation, and individual prospects to form deep relationships and achieve a personal annual revenue target of approximately $500,000. Work with the local fundraising team to develop and execute ongoing regional strategy for qualifying donors to ensure retention, growth of donor contributions, as well as recapture from previous donors. Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and volunteer leaders to create customized solicitation strategies matching the objectives of the organization and the interests of the donor/prospect. Solicit assigned donor portfolios through face-to-face visits, virtual meetings, and personalized written correspondence. Prepare grant proposals and engage foundation stakeholders to cultivate and solicit support for the American Red Cross. Implement engagement strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors at the $5,000 level or higher, with an emphasis on maximizing revenue for the American Red Cross. Develop effective partnerships to assist corporations in achieving their goals in strengthening their brand, marketing, and employee engagement. Maintain donor records within our database management tool. (Salesforce) Assist donors in creating meaning in their lives by giving to the American Red Cross. This position is a blend of work-from-home, in-person meetings with donors, and in-office meetings. Participate in disaster relief fundraising projects, community engagement, and administrative duties as instructed by supervisor. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. A minimum of five years of fundraising and/or sales experience is required. The combination of the candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to the description's minimum education and general experience years combined . Proven experience in developing strategies for donor retention, growth, and recapture, and proven success with complex requests is required. Experience soliciting corporate and/or foundation gifts, including proficiency in grant writing is strongly preferred. A current valid driver's license and a good driving record is required. Ability to relate well and work effectively with multiple constituencies and audiences. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Knowledge of office systems: MS Office preferred and fundraising database systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce.com). Ability to work on a team within a collaborative environment and ensure the highest customer service orientation. Travel: Frequent travel within the Region is required. Security Officers must remain calm in emergencies and can balance great guest and associate relations with safety and security. In this position you will: Provide security services ensuring the safety of employees and the security of workspaces and critical infrastructure. Enforce and adhere to all Dotdash Meredith security policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Ability to handle public interaction with disorderly or disruptive people. Write detailed narrative reports and maintain daily activity reports. Respond to incidents and emergency situations requiring security assistance, ensuring appropriate action is taken by staff, appropriate parties were notified, and After-Action Reports are completed. Operate Fire Safety Command Station to make announcements and acknowledge alarms. Under the direction of the Security Manager, occasionally transport company staff to and from specified locations in a timely and safe manner using a company vehicle. Greet and tend to all guests, messengers, and delivery services in a highly professional manner. Assist security staff on nights, weekends and 3rd party special events if needed. Strong organizational skills, with an attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize. Complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations set forth by Department head Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements| All must be met to be considered. Minimum 2 years of Security or similar experience preferred. Relative internship experience may qualify. Corporate Security, Military, Law Enforcement, or Executive Protection experience is not required, but a plus. Clean driving record as evidenced through a Motor Vehicle Records check. Must be willing to acquire First Aid/CPR certifications within 6 months of hire. Must be available to work a regular schedule, which may include daytime and/or nighttime shifts, plus overtime on an as-needed basis. A pleasant and positive attitude with a professional demeanor. Must be adept at interacting with all levels of an organization, from administrative to senior executive staff. Computer literacy in MS Office, Word and Email. Prior experience with access control, CCTV, and visitor management systems a plus. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. As a condition of continued employment, the employee must maintain the current active status of all required licenses and must carry the license at all times while on duty. Applicant must pass the pre-screening process including a background investigation. Any training needed, licenses, and certifications will be 100% compensated. Essential Physical & Amp; Mental Functions Read, understand and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing (correctable to normal level required) in communicating with public/co-workers, giving and receiving instructions, using phones. Stand or walk constantly during 3rd party event when needed. Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties. Constant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co-workers, view security monitors; includes hand/eye coordination. Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain or heat. Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required while setting priorities and following up on assignments. Must be willing to follow the chain of command and established security procedures. Must be able to handle the pressure of working with a high-volume general public (ranging from constant to occasional, depending on assignment).
