The Patrol Officer performs a variety of duties and tasks related to the protection of life and property for the citizens of Sullivan County. Following guidelines based upon high ethical and professional standards, and using conflict management and proactive enforcement techniques, patrol officers have a unique authority to investigate, arrest, search, seize, and use force as deemed reasonably necessary. Minimum Requirements Prerequisites: 1. Must be at least twenty one (21) years of age; and, 2. Must be a citizen of the United States of America; and, 3. Must be a high school graduate or possess its equivalency; and, 4. Not have been convicted of or pled guilty to or entered a plea of nolo contendere to any felony charge; and, 5. Not have been released, separated or discharged from the Armed Forces of the United States with a Dishonorable or Bad Conduct discharge, or as a consequence of conviction at court martial for either state or federal offenses; and, 6. May be required to pass physical examinations by physician(s) chosen by this agency; and, 7. Have been certified by a certain qualified professional in the psychiatric or psychological fields chosen by this agency to be free of all apparent mental disorder as described in the current edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders of the American Psychiatric Association that would, in the judgment of the examiner, impair the subject's ability to perform any essential function of the job; and, 8. Must have good moral character as determined by a thorough investigation conducted by the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office; and, 9. Must have a set of fingerprints on file with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation; and, 10. Must successfully pass a pre-employment voice stress analysis for the detection of deception.

The part-time overnight security position entails patrolling the entire property during the weekend and Holiday night shift. Responsible for responding to alarms and ensuring the safety of the premises by checking for unauthorized access and reporting any suspicious activity or emergencies. The overnight shift is 8:00P-5:00A. Job Responsibilities: * Maintain security responsibilities and procedures during the evening/night hours * Monitor and patrol premises: conduct regular foot patrols and/or vehicle patrols to deter unauthorized access, vandalism, or suspicious activity. * Report on time and complete your shift assignments. Call your supervisor in advance if you cannot make your shift or will have a late arrival. * Review the events scheduled on Calendar Wiz at the beginning of each shift * Complete 100% of checkpoints each night to ensure that all gates and building doors are locked and all interior lights are turned off. * Monitor and control access to the premises, permitting only authorized personnel. * Conduct regular patrols of the facility to identify and prevent security breaches. * Review and familiarize yourself with the Bristol Motor Speedway/Dragway Emergency Procedure Document that is provided. * Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, taking the appropriate action. * Provide exceptional customer service by assisting visitors, employees, and clients when necessary. * Accurately document all incidents, observations, and activities in detailed manner to include any suite HVAC units running in the offseason. * Work weekends and Holiday as needed. * Other duties as assigned Position Requirements: * 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license * A team player, must work well with others * Previous security and public safety experience desired * Leadership skills desired * Some knowledge of general security standards helpful * Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with all levels with the organization * Sound judgement and problem-solving skills Pay is $15.00 to $16.00 an hour depending on experience.
