Job Description Security Officers are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, team members, and company assets. Monitor alarm systems, surveillance cameras, access control systems and other security equipment. Deliver excellent guest service, responding to questions, complaints, and/or conflicts in a professional manner. Respond to physical threats. altercations, or aggressive behavior. When necessary, engage in self-defense, and defensive tactics (including take downs, handcuffing, restraining, or subduing an assailant). Utilize de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques to minimize the need for force. Act as a first responder during emergencies (medical, fire, criminal, natural disasters). Perform gaming drops and transactions, including carrying and transporting drop boxes and chip carriers. (min weight approx. 3 lbs to max weight 50 lbs) Write detailed and accurate incident reports on accidents, property damage, theft, or unusual occurrences. Serve as dispatcher to relay information, messages, or emergencies by phone or radio. Administer first aid/CPR/AED and Narcan and follow medical emergency protocols. Secure and preserve incident scenes, conduct evacuation procedures, and summon emergency responders when appropriate. Attend and successfully pass all recurring mandatory training (legal, defensive tactics, CPR/AED, drills, etc). Maintain proficiency with assigned equipment and communication devices. Respond to all emergencies, including fires, medical incidents, and criminal activity. Observe, report, and take appropriate action on suspicious or criminal activity. Search the inside of the vehicles for weapons, explosives and other deadly or dangerous items just prior to loading catering carts. 10. Escort all catering carts from the time the monitoring/inspection is completed until the carts are loaded onto the transport vehicle. 11. After concluding the search and loading, close and seal all carts with tamper evident security seals. 12. The air carrier or representative meeting the carts at the aircraft will inspect the seal for signs of tampering prior to breaking it. 13. In the event a seal shows signs of tampering or are discovered broken, the suspect cart must be searched for weapons, explosives, and other dangerous devices prior to loading on aircraft. 14. All seals must be stored in a locked container and protected from unauthorized access. 15. Notify or ensure immediate Law Enforcement Officer and/or Airline Ground Security Coordinator notification when necessary. 16. Ensure safe handling of dangerous or deadly weapons/objects discovered until arrival of the Law Enforcement Officer. 17. Contact Law Enforcement Officer if items of contraband (illegal items) are discovered during the screening process. Maintain control of items until arrival of the L.E.O. 18. Report all Government tests, real weapons, injuries and other major incidents to supervisor immediately. 19. Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs. 20. Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff and public in a courteous manner. 21. Attend meetings and in-services as required. 22. All Authorized for duty weapons are to be securely stored and protected from unauthorized access when not being carried. Normally, the employee plans and carries out work activities with minimal supervision and independently resolves problems that arise. Job Description Responsible for the efficient operation of the Security Department during assigned shift (currently Grave Shift). Supervise and instruct team member on shift in the proper performance of job duties to provide for the safety and security of guests, employees, and property. Train and brief staff regarding the days' events and any problems to monitor. Maintain shift schedule and delegate work assignments. Review and approve all reports written during the shift. Review and approve all arrests; respond to emergencies and any serious incidents. Ensure officers maintain a high degree of professionalism by adhering to all laws and regulations, and departmental and company rules, procedures, and policies. Assist security officers with assigned duties when necessary. Other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age. Must meet requirements of a Security Officer. Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of a normal shift. Other physical requirements include but are not limited to: lifting up to 100 lbs., reaching, kneeling, bending, and episodes of moderate to strenuous physical exertion. Minimum of six (6) months of casino security (or similar field) experience in a supervisory capacity. Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses.
