PISTOL TRIGGER PULL TEST: Applicants will be required to complete a trigger pull test of 25 pulls of the pistol trigger with their dominant hand in 1 minute and 13 pulls of the pistol trigger with their non-dominant hand in 1 minute. A Department issued empty weapon will be used to administer the test with a barrel plug in place.
WRITTEN TEST: Administration of a Personnel Evaluation Profile questionnaire, will be given to assist in the initiation of the background investigation.
RECORD CHECK: A police record check will be conducted and applicants will be fingerprinted.
SIT ALONG: Applicants will be required to complete a four hour Sit Along with the Bureau of Security Services. Sit Alongs are conducted at the St. Louis County Courts Building, Monday through Friday, from 7am-11am.
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION: Applicants will be provided with a Personal History Questionnaire and supporting documents to determine if the applicant meets the minimum requirements for the position. A thorough background investigation will be conducted on all police applicants in the areas of past employment record and reputation, personal references, neighborhood reputation, police record check, credit history and military record (when applicable). The background investigation is concluded with a polygraph examination in an attempt to verify information received from and about the applicant. Results of the polygraph examination are confidential and will be considered with the applicant's total file.
COMMANDER'S INTERVIEW: A further evaluation to determine the candidate's overall fitness for the position, including self-expression, mental alertness and suitability for police duties will be conducted by the Personnel Services Commander or a designee.
FINAL REVIEW BOARD: This is the final determination toward an offer of conditional appointment. High-ranking Department officials provide the final evaluation of the candidate to the Chief of Police. This evaluation may result in an offer of conditional employment or an end to the current selection process.
REAPPLICATION: In the event an applicant is eliminated during any phase of the process, reapplication may not be made for six months unless circumstances indicate that an earlier review may be warranted.
PHYSICAL HEALTH AND PSYCHOLOGICAL EXAMINATIONS: These examinations will be given after a conditional offer of employment by a Department designated physician and psychologist and shall consist of various organic tests to determine the applicant's suitability for the rigors of police work and their ability to participate in an increasingly difficult physical training program as a recruit at the Police Academy. The psychological exam will be used to determine the applicant's suitability for police work. If a Department designated physician or psychologist finds that the applicant meets physical and psychological standards for employment, the applicant will be appointed.
PROBATIONARY PERIOD: There is a probationary period of twelve (12) months for new employees. During this period, probationary employees must demonstrate their ability and willingness to perform staff support.

11. After concluding the search and loading, close and seal all carts with tamper evident security seals.
12. The air carrier or representative meeting the carts at the aircraft will inspect the seal for signs of tampering prior to breaking it.
13. In the event a seal shows signs of tampering or are discovered broken, the suspect cart must be searched for weapons, explosives, and other dangerous devices prior to loading on aircraft.
14. All seals must be stored in a locked container and protected from unauthorized access.
15. Notify or ensure immediate Law Enforcement Officer and/or Airline Ground Security Coordinator notification when necessary.
16. Ensure safe handling of dangerous or deadly weapons/objects discovered until arrival of the Law Enforcement Officer.
17. Contact Law Enforcement Officer if items of contraband (illegal items) are discovered during the screening process. Maintain control of items until arrival of the L.E.O.
18. Report all Government tests, real weapons, injuries and other major incidents to supervisor immediately.
19. Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs.
20. Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff and public in a courteous manner.

We are looking to hire a Cleared Security Escort to join our team in St. Louis, MO. This position reports to the Lead CST.
The Cleared Security Escort will be responsible for the following:
Escorting and monitoring visitors to secure areas within the site, including access control through confirmation of identification, conducting inspection of visitors and hand-carried items
The Cleared Security Escort will maintain visitor access logs in accordance with post orders
Report or respond to incidents, security, and safety concerns in accordance with established post orders
Guide, follow and direct individuals throughout the site
Prevent the disclosure of sensitive or confidential information
Assist in controlling physical and electronic locks and unlocking and locking doors and areas
Prevent theft of physical or intellectual property
The Cleared Security Escort will assist in promoting communication and awareness of data center security policies to client employees, vendors, contractors and others.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum 1 year security, military, or law enforcement experience
Capable of reading, speaking, and writing legible, concise reports in English
Must be able to work a consistent full time or part time schedule.
Must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
Required Security Clearance:
Must possess an active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements:
Able to stand for 8 hours (with breaks).
Able to work outdoors in summer heat and winter cold.

Conduct regular emergency drills and assessments of physical security infrastructure and recommend improvements or updates based on industry best practices.
Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and assist in resolving safety and security concerns.

Represent the Campus Safety department in meetings, emergency planning sessions, and campus events as needed.
Serve as the on-site point of contact during safety incidents, emergencies, or drills while maintaining composure and decorum to deescalate situations.

Employment is contingent on the successful completion of a background check and drug screening in accordance with the Professional Licensing Rules and Procedures of the St. Louis County Police Department.
* After obtaining the proper license, Security officers are considered the first responders of the Museum, and have the power to arrest and detain in incidents occurring on SLAM property. These powers are in effect only while on duty and on the premises that you are paid to protect.
* Security officers are required to carry aerosol pepper spray while on duty. All officers must be certified to do so by attending an approved pepper spray training course. All security officers carry handcuffs in order to detain as required.
* Officers will be periodically required to train for the following: Traffic-control, active shooter, general safety.
* Officers may be posted outside after dark, with or without other officers present. Outside posts are required of all officers, including during inclement weather.
This is a physically active position that may require the following:
* Must be able to stand for up to four hours at a time. Time will vary based on tour of duty as assigned for such shift.
