The Security Officer position is responsible for ensuring the highest levels of safety and security of all guests and team members through proactive and professional services for The Palms hotel and casino. The position complements the existing security programs. Security Officers act as a visual deterrent, intervene and respond to all levels of security and potential emergency needs including acts or threats of violence, emergencies, and life safety threats, and mitigate incidents through early detection and/or disruption of criminal conduct or other undesirable activity. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures. This position requires specialized training and physical conditioning. Completes written reports in compliance with departmental procedures and makes oral reports as needed. Assist in emergency situations by securing the scene to prevent further loss or damage, advise personnel of threats and potential threats, summon emergency responders to the incident, and initiate and conduct evacuation procedures. Render appropriate first aid to injured persons and following established protocol for reporting injuries. Provides information about policies, procedures, and ordinances as they affect the visiting public and maintains good public relations with internal customers, vendors and responding law enforcement agencies. This position will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing security operations at various events in the United States as well as some international events.
