Security/Security - 12-Months Function - Under direct supervision of the Principal to patrol school buildings to ensure a safe and secure building environment, as well as the personal safety of students, staff, and visitors. Essential Functions - Provides for the safety and security of students, staff, visitors and School District property in accordance with School District policies to provide an educational climate which is conducive to learning. - Conducts ongoing security patrols of the building. - Enforces Board policies, school rules and regulations. - Reports concerns and incidents which may require corrective action to Principal. - Assists visitors to the school in receiving proper direction, assists in maintaining log of all visitors, and prevents unauthorized persons from entering the building. - Monitors exits and prevents unauthorized exits of the building by students. - Checks student passes when classes are in session; escorts students to and from Principals' offices as directed. - Physically separates students involved in altercations and maintains crowd control as needed in accordance with established guidelines regarding the use of force. - Monitors grounds in morning to prevent loitering and improper parking of vehicles. Communicate regularly with leadership (Regional Director and General Manager) regarding security job assignments and required timeframe for proper workflow on property. Follow all safety, sanitation, and health regulations policies. Reduce the opportunity for the commission of crimes through the use of thorough, preventive patrol and high visibility of security throughout the premises on a timely schedule. Watch for unusual, illegal or dangerous activities occurring on the premises. Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation. Address all complaints from guests / debriefs with team members in person whenever possible. Promote and preserve the peace on premises to assure a comfortable and non- threatening environment for guests and employees. Aid, or seek aid for, individuals who are in danger of physical harm, or in need of medical attention. Respond to emergencies as prescribed in Emergencies Service Procedures. Patrol all areas of the property and assist guests with room access, valet, bell services and housekeeping if required during the shift. Input all written reports and activity summaries of all incidents answered during shift while adhering to company guidelines on confidentiality. Help assure compliance with liquor laws. Assist in developing and presenting security related programs. Willingness to be cross trained to assist at any of our sister properties. Security Guard Level I & II DEPARTMENT: Security REPORTS TO: Director of Security FLSA STATUS: Part-time, Non-Exempt, Hourly Responsible for overseeing the safety and security of Albuquerque Convention Center facilities and Albuquerque Convention Center patrons, employees, and assets. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for maintaining twenty-four (24) hour security of the interior and exterior of the building. Provide security services for assigned facilities; conduct periodic patrols by foot, to ensure only authorized personnel are on facility grounds. Lock and unlock facility doors as directed. Regulate the flow of employees and the public on facility premises to ensure safety. Respond to calls for service and reports of crimes in progress; call for emergency services (police, medical or fire) as necessary; assist outside agencies as needed. Conduct preliminary investigations to determine if a crime has been committed; determine whether further action is warranted; document incidents and prepare reports. May conduct periodic fire and safety hazard inspections of facilities; develop recommendations for enhancing security precautions. Monitor and operate computers, CCTV, and Fire Alarm Panels. Perform duties in the control center as assigned; dispatch security via radio; answer telephones; maintain 24-hour incident log; notify chain of command in matters of serious nature. Provide general assistance to the public; receive and document all lost and found articles; respond to and resolve inquiries. Prepare a variety of reports regarding security enforcement activities. Collect parking fees, charging customers accordingly. Provide information and assistance to the public regarding parking information and options; respond to complaints or direct complaints to appropriate staff. Provide security of the ACC parking structure. Monitor the occupancy of the parking structure and provide alternate parking locations if necessary. Maintain and clean surrounding work area.
