Ursinus College is seeking full-time Campus Safety Officers (CSOs) to work an assigned schedule which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. The successful candidate will be required to work special events, attend mandatory in-service training, and staff meetings, as well as be available for overtime when necessary.
Ursinus College CSOs are non-sworn, unarmed employees tasked with patrolling the 170-acre campus to discourage criminal behavior and interact with all members of the college community to promote a sense of well-being and security and enhance the quality of life on the Ursinus College campus.
Ursinus College CSOs are expected to be ambassadors for the college and provide exceptional customer service to all members of the college community. Successful candidates will not only show an aptitude for handling emergencies but also demonstrate interpersonal skills, professionalism, and a team-oriented mindset to serve the college community and create a safe environment for learning and growth.
Determination of shift will be based on department needs and is subject to change with reasonable notice.
Responsibilities
Safeguard life and property, and interdiction of criminal activity through high visibility, vehicular, bike, and foot patrol on the campus
Respond to non-emergency and emergency situations, including alarms, lockouts, medical and mental health crises, and crimes in progress and summon municipal Police, Fire, and EMS assistance when required
Conduct initial investigations, collect witness statements, photograph scenes, and prepare and submit concise and comprehensive incident reports
Regulate campus vehicular and pedestrian traffic to enhance safety and expedite flow. Enforce college parking regulations
Identify, report, and resolve conditions and circumstances that are hazardous to people and property. Inspect buildings and properties for proper maintenance and working order
Secure and unlock campus buildings in accordance with schedules and procedures
Administer First Aid and CPR when necessary
Provide escorts and shuttle transportation to members of the campus community as assigned
Monitor surveillance camera system and perform dispatcher duties as part of normal duties
Maintain confidentiality of information
This position is a Campus Security Authority as designated under the Jeanne Clery Act of 1990
Requirements and Qualifications
High School diploma or GED and good work history required
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and at least one year driving experience
Ability to operate a motor vehicle at night and in poor weather conditions
Proven computer literacy (Microsoft Office Word, Excel)
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills are required
Must be capable of passing a background investigation including criminal records check

Physical Demands:

As a Security Escort you will be responsible for the security and integrity of the facilities. Amentum will extensively train you on how to closely observe and surveil your surroundings and the activities of individuals working in and/or visiting sensitive facilities, escort uncleared personnel throughout the facility as well as perform other related duties. With this training, you will contribute to the safety and security of your work environment and gain experience securing and surveying classified working areas and any sensitive documents.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Must have an Active TS/SCI w/poly US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a TS/SCI w/poly Clearance.
+ Ability to walk and stand for a minimum of 8-12 hours per day
+ Possess the visual acuity to observe the activities of other individuals from a moderate distance
+ This position requires visual observation of personnel working or visiting customer facilities
+ Must successfully complete DCJS training within 90 days of hire
+ Possess good customer service skills
+ Must demonstrate satisfactory oral and written communication skills, including the ability to describe incidents via verbal briefing and written report
+ Must have reliable transportation to sites not accessible via public transportation or pickup/drop-off
+ Must be able to work on cleared customer facility - on site positions only.
+ **Active TS/SCI w/Poly required for this role**
Available Shifts
+ Shifts may vary during the week including days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.
+ Panama shifts (rotating 12 hour schedules) may also be required

What You'll Do:
Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as required.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, including business areas and the perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
Minimum Requirements:
Have 1 or more years of law enforcement experience or 2 or more years of experience as a security supervisor or manager or 3 or more years of security-related experience.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.
Loss prevention experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Job Description
Be a part of keeping our guests and employees safe by patrolling Valley Forge Casino Resort premises
to maintain order, enforce regulations, and ensure observance of applicable laws and regulations.
Essential Job Functions:
Second Shift is 3pm- 11pm
Patrols grounds, lobbies, corridors, and public rooms; confers with management, interviews guests and employees, and interrogates persons to detect infringements and investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalism, and accidents.
Answers incoming phone calls and directs appropriately to dispatch, security podium and employee entrance areas; assigns officers to situations in progress.
Monitors and observes the consumption and service of alcoholic beverages and removes guests in violation of casino resort policies and procedures.
Protects the money room, administrative offices and other areas of the casino resort.
Properly identifies all employees entering the business.
Performs funds verifications, table games and slot machine drops, and transports between departments.
Warns or excludes guests that are in violation of casino resort policies and procedures.
Reports all accidents and conditions requiring correction; writes reports including actions taken.
Responds to emergency medical situations.
Provides traffic control, implements evacuation plans and routes and maintains crowd control at entry points when necessary.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
One (1) year security, military, law enforcement, corrections, firefighter, or emergency medical services work experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
