The Unarmed Security Officer is responsible for day-to-day security operations at client facilities. Officers serve as the primary contact point for clients, ensuring adherence to Post Orders and reporting violations of security policy or procedure.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide security support and guidance to clients and staff
* Ensure compliance with Post Orders and directives
* Monitor and report violations or suspicious activities, including:
* Access control procedures
* Credential/access ID usage
* Unauthorized presence in restricted areas
* Deviations from approved patrol routes

Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of a Hospital Security Shift Commander (SO3) or Hospital Security Lead (SO2), in the absence of the Security Supervisor, a Security Officer 1 will assist Nursing and the medical staff in maintaining a safe and secure therapeutic environment for patients, residents, and staff by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times. Performs daily rounds and egress/ingress control.
This position responds to and participates in various codes, drills, patient interventions and other emergencies. Problem-solves and assists in resolving patient conflict as appropriate. Guides/directs other disciplines during crisis intervention, as necessary. Encourages proper Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) methods to unit staff. -Respond to codes or incidents to include but not limited to patient escalations. Prior experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack and cherry picker helpful but not required.
Ability to be trained on Lock Out Tag Out (L.O.T.O) procedures and the ability to perform Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
Ability to work 0 to 35 feet above the ground.
Ability to become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment.

Job Expectations:
Commitment to AFW's safety policies and procedures and ability to promote awareness.
Process plastic, foam, cardboard and styrofoam to be recycled.
Inspect Styrofoam, cardboard, plastic, and foam to ensure it is free of tape, packaging boards, and any other debris prior to being processed.
Ensure all bails are bailed safely and ready for transport.
Move bails onto pallets and transport for shipping by operating a forklift or pallet jack.
Process all non-recyclable material.
Clean and maintain the equipment and work area.
Periodically empty all trash cans through the facility.
Clean and maintain the bail storage area.
Operate snow removal equipment during the winter (For Colorado Stores) to keep all of the walkways and building entrances cleared and safe.
Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on the recycling equipment.
Collaborate with the maintenance team to make sure the grounds and the building are always properly cared and clean up to AFW standards.
Report all equipment issues and potential liabilities along with recommendations for solving such issues to the AFW management team.
Ability to efficiently work independent of direct supervision.
Maintain a neat and safe work environment.
