- Provide Access Control Points to several US military assets while at berth.

- Monitor Access control computer screens for People coming and going from vessels and gates.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to operate a computer, with demonstrated skills with Outlook, Word, and Excel programs.

Flex Officer Explanation
The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company's operational and financial success. The flex officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.
Scheduling Expectations
The scheduling parameters and expectations for a flex officer are different from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. As a flex:
You will be trained at various posts and /or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week's schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.
You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described on this sheet. If you know you will be unavailable on an upcoming date or time that would normally fall within your availability described on this sheet, you must communicate this with your supervisor, so they know not to schedule you.

Provide safety and security services to the Linfield University community in a variety of situations including emergency response. Follow established security policies and standard operating procedures as outlined by the Director of Linfield Public Safety. Enforce university policies and appropriate state laws on the campus property by monitoring and patrolling the grounds and buildings of the university. Perform standard crime, fire/life safety, and accident prevention duties including investigation and documentation of incidents. Maintain and provide for the university a log and other documentation of activities while at work in this capacity.
Work Schedule:
Depends on assignment; Flexibility is required to accommodate occasional shift rotations as needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Patrol the campus in either a security vehicle, on foot, or bicycle to provide a safe and secure environment by deterring crime and enforcing university parking policy.
* Contact people on the university property who are not members of the Linfield community and ensure they are either guests or have appropriate business on the campus.
* Ensure the safety and security of campus facilities by making frequent checks of buildings and grounds.
* Ensure that buildings are locked and secured after certain hours for protection of persons and property.
* Respond to calls for service and reports of incidents, accidents, and/or possible crimes
* Observe and report suspicious and/or criminal activity.
* Take appropriate action as the situation requires:
* Use presence and verbal commands to mitigate suspicious activity on campus.
* Complete incident/investigation reports.
* Conduct follow-up investigation and interview persons in connection with the investigation.
* Secure evidence pertaining to the incident.
* Respond to emergency situations and summon emergency medical assistance and/or apply first aid, interview principles and witnesses.
* Make general drawings of the accident scene and complete accident forms.
* Perform crowd control duties and traffic management duties for university events.
* Document and, when possible, correct fire/life safety hazards.
* Work closely and cooperatively with other members and departments of the Linfield community.
* Respond to medical emergencies, render initial aid, and summon emergency medical assistance.
* Cooperate with and work closely to provide support service to both the Police and Fire Departments when they respond to the campus.
Linfield Public Safety personnel are considered "essential employee positions" with the university and are subject to work during emergency incidents and closing of the university or its campuses, in addition to institutional holidays and break periods. A complete loss of communication (phone, internet, etc.) is to be considered a campus emergency. If a regional or large-scale event occurs in which an officer would reasonably believe that their assistance may be needed on campus, the officer should attempt to contact the department. If they cannot reach the department, they should respond to the campus.
Minimum Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED, and at least one year of safety/security experience or equivalent educational training. Experience must demonstrate:
* Excellent interpersonal skills and problem resolution skills.
* Ability to clearly and precisely communicate both orally and in writing.
* Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations, control a situation, and diffuse anger or hostility in others.
* Able to analyze a situation quickly and objectively to determine the correct course of action.
* Knowledge of written documentation procedures and tampering of evidence and standard investigative procedures.
* Ability to work effectively with a varied campus community.
* Computer skills necessary for operating systems, producing reports, etc.
* Possess Oregon DPSST certification as an unarmed private security professional or obtain professional certification within 90 days of date of hire.
* Possess First Aid/CPR/AED certification or obtain certification within 90 days of date of hire.
* Possess valid Oregon driver's license, have a good driving record, and ability to become and remain certified as a driver of university vehicles.
