All Security Officers, under the direction of the Safety and Risk Management Department, are responsible for the execution of all security operations, emergency response and fire safety operations for Jay Peak Resort. They are responsible for providing protection to all land, building, employees and guests of Jay Peak while they are in or on the land, building and property owned or managed by Jay Peak. All Security Officers are part of a team that insures a safe environment for guests and associates. This involves patrolling, documenting, reporting, and following-up on safety and security hazards or infractions. Security Officers may also be required to carry out more general guest service tasks, such as delivering items to guest rooms. Expectations would be that you check your personal schedule to see if you are available for the work, a relatively quick response as to yes or no is preferred. Per-diem officers are not guaranteed work; you can expect hours to be sporadic. Typically, you may be asked to work an entire week or longer if someone goes on vacation, is out on Leave of absence, sick, etc... At the same time, you may go a week or more without work. It really depends on what the needs of the department are at that particular time. In the summer hours tend to be plentiful, but in the winter, they tend to be reduced as vacation time requests are not as prevalent NEW increased hourly wage, based on experience. In addition to the hourly rate of pay, there is a $1.60 to $7.60 differential depending on shift. Job Description Provides safety and security services which include the implementation and administration of programs that assist the campus community in maintaining order and/or improving the personal safety of the students, faculty, staff, guests, and property of the College. This is a full time benefits eligible hourly position. The starting salary range for the position is $24.47 - $30.59 per hour.
