Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections on your assigned vehicle prior to departing the hub. Ensure all required equipment is present in your assigned vehicle prior to departing. This shall include, but not limited to, first aid kits, insurance card, flares, security devices, etc. (See equipment list assigned to each vehicle.) Report for work at your scheduled time (assigned by Operations Supervisor daily). If assigned to a stationary guard post, such as hospital duty, ensure compliance with Post Orders and hospital protocol. Ensure you have in your possession at all times; guard card, weapons permit, ICE ID, Company ID, medical card (if applicable). Complete post vehicle check at the completion of your assignment. Forward any gas receipts to the Supervisor in charge of Fleet Management. Report any accidents, incidents and/or injuries associated with your transportation duties. Complete any required incident reports and/or documentation prior to your departure. Complete a Record of Presence (ROP), equipment and key sign in/out sheet and all associated paperwork necessary on a daily basis Transport Officers are required to maintain a valid Armed Guard/Firearms permit as part of their qualifications to perform transport duties. Maintenance includes passing the periodic firearms recertification. Officers who fail to maintain their armed guard/firearms permit may not be assigned to Transportation duties. The Contractor shall certify proficiency every quarter. Training curriculum shall include Use of Force training, Tactics, Weapon Safety, and Range Qualifications. All Armed Officers are required to recertify with their issued duty handgun at periodicities set forth in the Federal contract or state requirements. Officers must achieve a minimum score of 200 or 80% out of 250 points and must demonstrate safe handling and manipulation of their weapon (or as mandated by state requirements). As a Security Officer - Tactical, physical ability is essential as you will be moving around your entire shift, patrolling environments such as retail stores, airports, detention centers, etc. What's in it for you: * Site Location: Torrington, CT * Set schedule: * Thursday & Friday - 3pm to 11pm * Competitive hourly wage of $37.50 / hour * A comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, a 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer matching contributions, paid time off (PTO) policy, paid holidays, disability coverage, and life insurance options * Career growth opportunities at GardaWorld * Uniform provided at no cost Responsibilities of Tactical Security Guard * Patrol sensitive areas to spot any suspicious activity * Verify identities and control access to secure areas * React quickly to threats or incidents * Check the proper functioning of alarms and cameras * Document incidents and actions taken * Respond to alarms and conduct on-site checks * Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents * Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property Qualifications of Tactical Security Guard * Be authorized to work in the U.S. * You are 21 years old or older * Be able to provide documentation of High School Diploma or GED * You have a state security license (CT state Blue Card) valid armed endorsement * Each armed employee must either be prior law enforcement officer with a minimum of 5 years' experience; or a career military or military police officer. * Have a minimum of six (6) months of armed work experience which may include military and/or law enforcement experience. * Pass an LEAI Assessment (62% or higher) * Candidate must pass government-required live-fire testing and meet minimum scores as established by the state of Connecticut. * Candidate must complete a standard NRA course of fire with eighty percent (80%) proficiency * Pass standard GWSS employee physical * Pass modified agility exam to include lifting and moving and flexibility testing. (The Kraus Weber Test) * Candidate must pass a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE). HPE is based on agility, walking, running and lifting * Currently have or be able to attain all necessary immunizations * Provide personally owned duty weapon (9mm caliber handgun & three (3) magazines of a minimum 10 round capacity * Complete certification to carry an approved less-lethal alternative. NYS LIcensed Security Guard - Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, and access points. Investigates security breaches, incidents, and accidents. Controls traffic by directing drivers. Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities. The hours are Monday: 10-3, Tuesday: 1130-430, Wednesday: 11-4, Thursday: 1130-430, Friday:10-3. - A candidate who can work all the hours would be prioritized.
