Under general supervision, performs responsible work in safeguarding School Board property. Responsible for patrolling an assigned area to safeguard buildings, materials, and equipment against fire, trespassing, theft, and other hazards. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, or stooping, The employee frequently lifts light and heavy objects, climbs ladders, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, distinguishes between shades of color, and utilizes the sense of smell. The work is typically performed in an office and outdoors, in inclement weather and at emergency scenes. The employee may be exposed to contagious or infectious diseases, irritating chemicals, and dangers associated with law enforcement and emergency response activities. Work requires the use of protective devices and other specialized law enforcement equipment. SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY None. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent required; and More than one of related experience required; or Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work. Possession of a valid state driver's license issued for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. POST Certification - Basic.
