What you will do
This position will be responsible for the installation of complex integrated security systems including the wiring, equipment, and programming of intrusion detection systems, access control systems, CCTV, digital recorders, network recorders, and intercom systems for clients.
How you will do it
Capable of installing cabling, field equipment & control equipment enclosures in customer locations according to the national electric code, company, and customer guidelines.
Can use electronic test equipment to troubleshoot complicated problems during installation.
Reads and interprets blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
Readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment, and test for operation.
Performs system checks for proper operation.
Knowledge of computer programs including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; CCTV and access control systems; media storage.
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work paying close attention to details.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
Ability to analyze information.
Can work unsupervised to complete installation jobs and is self-motivated to complete jobs.
Completes and submits all necessary paperwork related to job assignments.
Capable of using hand and power tools to properly mount and secure equipment.
Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; then position and terminate cables, wires, and strapping.
Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors.
Conduct End-user training.
Ability to isolate trouble to a customer network, where applicable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Security Officer is required to work scheduled shift at all times, in all conditions.
* Acts as First Responder to medical emergencies, administers First Aid/CPR/AED as needed.
* Utilizes Garden's IRIMS system to generate necessary detailed reports, including accident reports and near-misses, Lights Out (Garden and Street), Inclement Weather Log, and MSD Drainage reports.

* Performs wand tours; patrols premises and conducts ground inspections on foot, bike, Segway, and using other Garden vehicles (i.e., golf carts, etc.) to maintain order and secure buildings (i.e., windows, doors, gates, etc.).

* Conducts periodic alarm testing for elevator, fire, security and other equipment as directed in accordance with required standards.
* Monitors the Garden's energy management system when performing duties as Taylor Officer, paying special attention to greenhouse temperatures from September through May. When assigned the greenhouse as part of responsibility, must perform visual inspection of temperatures in greenhouse to verify that the temperatures are within range and if out of range, take immediate action by contacting HVAC individual on duty or on call.
* Provides customer service, including motor vehicle assistance, to visitors, volunteers and employees (i.e. giving directions to other area attractions, greets public for weddings, parties, etc.).
* Transports employees in Garden-owned motor vehicle to other campus buildings/parking lots as needed; provides personal protection; accompanies employees to their parked vehicles or other specified locations after standard operating hours.
* Detects and reports to supervisor any suspicious activities/actions which may be a threat to employees, visitors, volunteers, Garden property, etc.; prepares and submits daily electronic and written reports as required.
* Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.

As a Physical Security Officer at Spectrum, your primary objective is to ensure the safety and protection of individuals, property, and sensitive information within our corporate campuses and facilities. You will achieve this by maintaining a secure work environment and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and courtesy. Key responsibilities include patrolling the premises, monitoring access control systems and cameras, screening deliveries, and responding to critical incidents as per established protocols. while providing excellent customer service to employees, guests and vendors As a PSO, you will also be expected to gain expertise in the security platforms used by Spectrum.
WHAT OUR PHYSICAL SECURITY OFFICERS ENJOY MOST
* Conducting all aspects of the daily security operations on-site, including executing the overall security plan by:
* Controlling Access
* Conducting Interior and Exterior Patrols
* Responding to Alarms
* Implementing the Mail Safe Program
* Responding to Critical Incidents
* Investigating Suspicious Behavior, Incidents, and Security Breaches
* Reporting to Chain of Command and Internal Partners
* Contacting Emergency Services as Required
* Identifying and reporting security vulnerabilities and safety issues.
* Creating and updating incident reports.
* Coordinating and liaising with internal business partners.
* Adhering to Spectrum's policies when handling sensitive or confidential information.
* Adhering to Spectrum's Integrity Policy and Code of Conduct.
* Knowing post orders and associated policies and procedures.
* Ensuring quality of service and adherence to policies and procedures.
* Utilizing, accounting for, and maintaining team equipment.
* Becoming knowledgeable in the use of Spectrum security platforms and technology.
* Being available for occasional assignments to special events on and off-campus.
* Ensuring that required security training is conducted and completed.
* Serving as a backup to other officers as needed, willing to work irregular hours and weekends.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Must possess a valid Driver's License
* Ability to use office software/computer skills (re: MS Office - Word, PPT, Excel)
* Ability to operate a radio, telephone, and cellular phone with associated applications
* Ability to learn Spectrum's access control systems, guard tour platform, video systems, and other security-related technology
Preferred Qualifications
* Security Certification
* Customer service in the retail or hospitality sector
* Graduate of a law enforcement training academy
