Peraton is seeking a Secure Software Assessment SME. Peraton's Defense Mission and Global Health Solutions Sector is seeking a for the Department of Defense (DoD). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security of software applications through secure coding practices and code vulnerability assessments. Lead a team of application security specialists, providing guidance on secure coding practices and static/dynamic analysis methodologies. Provide guidance to development teams on secure coding techniques and remediation strategies for identified vulnerabilities. Oversee the execution of application security assessments, including code reviews and vulnerability scans, to identify security flaws in software applications. What You'll Do:
Conduct Code Vulnerability Assessments: Perform rigorous static and dynamic code analysis to identify vulnerabilities in software applications. Utilize tools like SAST (Static Application Security Testing) and DAST (Dynamic Application Security Testing) to ensure the application's security posture.
Lead and Guide Application Security Teams: Manage and mentor a team of application security specialists, providing technical leadership and guidance on complex vulnerability analyses. Review team findings to ensure accurate results and high-quality deliverables.
Promote and Train on Secure Coding Practices: Educate and provide training to development teams on secure coding techniques and common vulnerabilities (e.g., based on OWASP Top Ten, CWE/SANS Top 25). Deliver workshops or guidelines on defensive coding against injection attacks, cross-site scripting (XSS), secure authentication, etc.
Oversee Secure Software Assessments: Plan, prioritize, and execute secure software assessments across the software lifecycle, including secure design reviews, code audits, and vulnerability testing. Ensure assessments align with organizational and DoD policies for application security.
Provide Vulnerability Remediation Guidance: Offer actionable recommendations to developers, architects, and system owners to remediate identified code vulnerabilities and improve the security of applications. Ensure that all secure recommendations align with development timelines and technical feasibility.
Develop and Maintain Security Procedures and Guidelines: Create and update secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) protocols, ensuring they include best practices for vulnerability prevention. Establish a set of repeatable processes for conducting secure software assessments.
Collaborate with Development and Stakeholder Teams: Serve as a liaison between security, development, and operations teams, ensuring shared understanding of application security goals and activities. Incorporate security requirements into development workflows and stakeholder requirements.
Monitor Application Threats in Real-Time: Implement baseline measures to monitor frameworks, libraries, and third-party software for vulnerabilities or new security threats. Ensure that vulnerabilities associated with third-party code are identified, assessed, and remediated effectively.
Assess and Integrate Emerging Tools and Techniques: Evaluate new application security tools, methods, and frameworks for integration into software development environments to enhance security.
Perform Reporting and Communication: Develop comprehensive reports to communicate assessment findings, risks, and remediation steps to stakeholders and leadership in a clear and actionable format. Provide periodic updates and performance metrics on application security initiatives to leadership.

We are seeking a Security Specialist to develop, maintain, and continuously improve the security infrastructure across Decentralized Masters and our new SaaS venture. This role focuses on operational security, data protection, risk prevention, and proactive threat mitigation.
You'll work cross-functionally with engineering, data protection, compliance, operations, and product teams to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems, data, and customer assets.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational & Technical Security
Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events across systems, cloud environments, applications, and internal tools.
Implement and manage SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners, and logging infrastructure.
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation with engineering teams.
Oversee secure configuration baselines for infrastructure, servers, cloud accounts, and internal systems.

Cloud Security

Risk Management & Compliance
Support compliance frameworks including GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and crypto-specific security standards as required.
Develop and maintain internal security policies, procedures, and security controls.
Partner with the Data Protection & Information Security Officer to ensure alignment across security, privacy, and data governance.
Access & Identity Management
Serve as the Access & Control Monitoring expert, managing IAM, RBAC policies, least-privilege access, MFA, and anomaly detection systems.
Perform regular access reviews, privilege audits, and segregation-of-duty checks.
Maintain strong audit logging practices and monitoring of access behavior.
Security Awareness & Culture
Deliver training, simulations, and internal education to strengthen internal security awareness.
Lead phishing simulation programs and social engineering prevention initiatives.
Incident Response
Lead the incident response process: detection, escalation, containment, investigation, and post-incident review.
Maintain and improve the incident response playbook; run annual and quarterly tabletop exercises.
Secure Development & SaaS Security (Bonus)
Collaborate with engineering teams to embed secure-by-design practices into our SaaS products.
Conduct application security reviews, threat modeling, and code analysis (bonus).
Contribute to architecture decisions for new features and infrastructure.
Requirements
What You Will BringMust-Have
3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or security operations.

The Security GRC Specialist, Audit & Assurance is responsible for leading Oportun's audit readiness and assurance initiatives across security and compliance programs. The successful candidate must project a positive image and participate in crime prevention and community-oriented public safety programming that reflects the University's diverse population.
Additionally, University Police Officers enforce University regulations, local ordinances, and state laws. The individual is a first responder to incidents, accidents, and other emergencies and is responsible for conducting initial and follow-up investigations into significant and criminal incidents.
The individual will work under the direction of a Sergeant, Captain, or Chief of Police.
The University Police Department is a 24/7, 365-day operation. Therefore, the successful candidate must be able to work all shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime shifts, as required. Overtime may be assigned for departmental needs and is mandatory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under direction, provides foot and vehicular patrol to detect security problems, safety hazards, and to provide surveillance for an entire University campus or portion thereof.
Complete training and have familiarity with dispatch functions.
Participate in directed patrol activities to observe and detect unusual activities, circumstances, or violations of the law.
Conduct investigations, make arrests, issue summons, enforce laws and ordinances, provide directions and information.
Deter, restrain, and/or arrest individuals attempting to inflict physical harm on themselves or others, or commit criminal acts.
Support the University's diversity commitment and strong student-centered vision and mission.
Maintain radio contact with headquarters/police personnel.
When necessary, regulate and control pedestrian and vehicular traffic to ensure safety and reasonable, rapid movement of traffic with a minimum of interference.
Provide quality customer service.
Provide foot or vehicular patrols for the duration of a shift.
Provide basic first aid until arrival of local EMS.
Maintain knowledge of current state, county & local laws, policies and procedures relevant to the position.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
These positions are open to entry-level applicants OR applicants who possess a current New Jersey Basic Course for Police Officer Certification (formerly known as Class A);OR are a Special Officer Class II (SLEO II), which is eligible for a waiver of training from the Basic Course for Police Officers; OR have completed the Alternate Route Program for the Basic Course for Police Officers (BCPO).

Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays, assigned overtime shifts, as required, respond to emergency call-ins as needed, and respond to department call-ins as needed. Overtime is mandatory.
Mental and physical ability to maintain high levels of exertion in times of emergencies.
Physical ability to lift and carry suspects, prisoners, victims, and people to safe areas.
Ability to safely handle their assigned weapons and successfully qualify at the designated range as required.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
A valid driver's license in your state of residence and have had no serious violations (Type A) within the past five (5) years and no more than three (3) moving violations (Type B) in the past three (3) years. University Policy found here :Monmouth University Vehicle Use Policy.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of work and life experience directly relating to:
Community service/involvement
Interviewing, public speaking, and conflict resolution skills
Problem-solving, using creative methods to resolve issues
Multi-cultural work and life experiences
Associate's degree, two years of college, trade school, or equivalent education;
Bachelor's degree is highly preferred.
Higher Education public safety experience is a plus.
