As a security officer, you need to be more vigilant because you are responsible for completing reports by recording surveillance, observations, occurrences, and interviewing witnesses. You will also need to control traffic by directing drivers.

You also need to undertake preventive measures to take care of all the equipment by calling repairs, following manufacturer manuals, and evaluating new facilities. One of the major works of security is to ensure safety by responding to an emergency quickly, protecting the company's assets, and following procedures for different occurrences such as fire prevention, traffic control, and accident investigations. The basic skills required for a security officer are the ability to multitask, interpersonal relationships, good communication skills, a wide knowledge of security procedures, and the ability to follow complex instructions.
