RESPONSIBILITIES
The Security Officer provides for the safety and protection of guests, crewmembers and company property. The officer is tasked with anticipating potential threats or harmful activities and seeking ways to intervene in order to prevent injuries or disruptions from occurring.
Monitors and assists in the enforcement of company and departmental policies and procedures and federal, state and local laws pertaining to gaming and criminal.
Oversees the transportation and exchange of all money transactions with Player Services, the count room, table games, and all other venues as needed. This includes fills, markers, credits, slot drops, table drops, F & B escorts, etc. Surveillance must be made aware of any money movements.
Operates a security control communications center at the casino security dispatch office (as assigned), monitoring emergencies, handling incoming telephone calls, dispatching officers, monitoring radio calls, and disseminating BOLO alert information.
Maintains a visible and accessible profile among guests and crewmembers to create a sense of security, to deter potential problems and to answer questions.
Responds to emergency calls, and depending on the circumstances, intervenes to stop crimes and disputes in progress and/or renders first aid to guests and crewmembers as needed.
Notifies supervisor on duty if outside agencies, such as the police or paramedics, must be contacted.
Monitors suspicious persons in the casino/hotel and outside areas particularly those attempting to enter unauthorized areas.
At the direction of the supervisor or Operations management, evicts undesirables as needed.
Executes extreme weather, terrorist, fire and bomb threat procedures as directed by the supervisor.
Provides an escort to premium players who wish to transport cash and/or other valuables to their hotel room or car.
Administers lost and found policy by logging found items and advising guests of proper procedure for claiming and recovering items.
Assists hotel management with lockouts, lost luggage claims, missing property reports and welfare checks as needed.
Prepares all reports for the shift including accident, incident and injury, missing property and damage reports in a factual, legible, and timely manner.
When assigned to dispatch, maintains control of designated keys. Checks the key lists for authorized persons to be allowed in areas requested.
Monitors the casino gaming areas, entrances and exits to ensure minors do not enter the gaming areas without authorization.
Provides immediate back-up as requested to officers who are dispatched to handle emergency calls.
Interacts with and greets all guests and fellow crewmembers in a positive, uplifting manner.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:
Must have - or be able to obtain - a Mississippi Gaming License.

Patrols and protects the entire campus, inside and outside; responds to all incidents or calls relating to the safety and security of all persons and property on the campus. Officers are expected to demonstrate exemplary customer service skills and maintain a professional appearance while serving as ambassadors of the organization. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Patrols the entire campus for the purpose of deterring crime and initiating corrective actions on any physical security or safety hazards identified.
Responds to all calls for disruptive behavior, disturbances, and combative patients, as well as internal or external alarms.
Understands, complies, and enforces hospital policy and procedure. As needed, enforces State and Local laws/ordinances to ensure the safety and security of all persons and property on campus.
Submits all necessary reports in a prompt and professional manner.
Performs escorts related to money transfers, as directed by facility policy. Will secure patient valuables upon request. Will perform non-monetary escorts for staff, visitors, physicians, and patients upon request for the safety and security of the requesting party.
Controls all parking on the property, emphasizing parking in critical and/or emergency parking areas.
Completes assigned goals.

Experience
Minimum Required
Preferred/Desired
1 year experience in the security field, and healthcare setting or law enforcement, or military experience.
Education
Minimum Required
Appropriate education. Knowledge, skills, and mental development equivalent to completion of 4 years of high school, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience. High school graduate or higher.

Training
Minimum Required
Possess or have the ability to obtain First aid, CPR, De-escalation techniques, proper and safe restraints techniques, security guard training and certification, OC, Pepper Spray, Baton, or Taser Certification. Completion of CIT Training and Taser Certification is preferred.
