* Police Officers are the first line of defense for all faculty / staff / students / visitors on campus. Police Officers are to respond to emergencies in a safe manner and as quickly and as possible while exercising due care for everyone. Officers are expected to act quickly to protect life and stop persons causing harm to others.
* Develops partnerships with law enforcement and the community through community-oriented policing practices. Plans, directs, and coordinates law enforcement activities and programs to accomplish these partnerships. Provides exceptional customer service to all constituents, including but not limited to, faculty, staff, students, visitors and the community at large.
Law Enforcement Officer II (JC20/61122696/FTE-S01105P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 05. Salary range: $39,764.00 (minimum) - $56,670.00 (midpoint). Twelve (12) hour shifts, work hours vary. Weekends, holidays and special events are required. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Enforces all the rules and regulations of the jail; maintains safety and security of the general public, facility staff, and inmates; takes custody of new arrivals; escorts inmates to various parts of the jail facility.
Receives/processes incoming inmates; explains jail rules, regulations and procedures; searches prisoners, conducts property inventory, and secures personal property; prepares in-processing documentation; makes photographs and fingerprint records of incoming prisoners; obtains NCIC background reports; conducts book-in interviews; answers questions from prisoners.
Determines appropriate classification of each inmate according to charges, medical condition, and/or security risk; refers juveniles to a certified Juvenile Officer for further processing; segregates prisoners into proper cells; assigns jail housing; issues clothing, bedding and personal hygiene items.

We are looking for a responsible and dependable unarmed security guard to help ensure safety and security at our premises. The ideal candidate is alert, professional, and reliable.
Shift(s):
8:00am-10:00pm (Monday-Friday)

Responsibilities:
* Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
* Fill out reports with a high level of detail.
* Review reports and communicate effectively.
* Proficient with computer.
* Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security.
* Warn violators of premise rules and regulations
* Report any facility issues such as fire hazards and leaking water pipes.
* Request emergency personnel for high-risk situations
* Successfully use the provided software to annotate events that occur during shift.
* Make regular trips around the property and scan the pre-determined points as directed by management.
* Work as part of a team
* Complete Weekly payroll
* Complete interviews and complete hiring process for new employees
Requirements:
* Previous experience in security, military, law enforcement, or other related fields
* Familiarity with security equipment
* Ability to handle a light physical workload. Ability to stand and/or walk assigned patrols.
* Strong attention to detail
* H.S. Diploma or equivalent
* Meet and continuously maintain grooming standards.
* Have a reliable means of transportation and a valid driver's license!
