Verify identification through the use of identification cards, badges, automated records, verbal questioning, and other means. Allow entrance to persons and vehicles with authorization. Admit persons, deny entry or arrange for escorts, as appropriate. Conducts vehicle searches/inspections to include cargo areas in accordance with standing operating procedures. Conducts foot and vehicle patrols of perimeter, roadways, parking lots and other high traffic areas as well the interiors of other buildings and structures. Operates two-way communications equipment to summon emergency vehicles and crews when assistance is needed. Implements enhanced security in the event of Emergency Action Plan activation such as bomb, fire or other threats. Maintains duty journal and prepares written reports to document unusual situations and conditions.
