Flex Officer Explanation
The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company's operational and financial success. The flex officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.
Scheduling Expectations
The scheduling parameters and expectations for a flex officer are different from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. As a flex:
You will be trained at various posts and /or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week's schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.
You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described on this sheet. If you know you will be unavailable on an upcoming date or time that would normally fall within your availability described on this sheet, you must communicate this with your supervisor, so they know not to schedule you.
For short-notice call-ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. If you refuse more than 20% of shifts for which you are called in, this could negatively impact your employment status with the company.

Summary

Responsibilities
* Responds to the needs and inquiries of the Carson Tahoe Health community, and strives for a safe and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors. Supports and creates a community based model and sets standards for cross-disciplinary work to improve customer service.
* Responds to all calls for service and ensures the making of reports and maintaining records.
* Promote crime prevention and utilize proactive techniques to reduce crime, theft and loss of Carson Tahoe Health property.
* Uses resources to respond to incidents, including emergencies and code gray violent events.
* Will be required to administer patient restraints when authorization is provided by an approved medical practitioner.
* Positively interact with Carson City Sheriff's Department, Nevada Department of Corrections, and other county, state, federal and out of state law enforcement agencies to build and continue a positive working relationship.
* Maintains security and access systems.
* Verifies identity of visitors and escorts to and from secure locations.
* Completes required paperwork, such as inventories, check-sheets, and reports.
* Communicate important security and safety information and incidents to next shift.
