POLICE OFFICER LATERAL SALARY/BENEFITS: Placement within the Police Officer Pay Plan will be based on experience and within the pay range of:
$30.0843/hour ($62,575.42 /year) - $42.3314/hour ($88,049.33/year).

* Patrols assigned areas; enforces State and local laws and ordinances; maintains a community presence and/or responds to calls for service and takes appropriate action
* Responds to calls related to the protection of life and property, traffic incidents, and other public safety emergencies

Oral Board Interview/Chief's Interview

Position Description
The City of Tolleson is seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Police Officer - Lateral for the Tolleson Police Department. The Police Officer will ensure the safety and security of citizens, municipal streets, buildings, residences, and neighborhoods. Responsibilities include: responding to criminal and public calls for service including fires, automobile accidents, crimes, neighborhood disturbances, and other requests from citizens; responding to crimes in progress; conducting investigations; conducting welfare checks; resolving civil disputes; providing riot control; assisting the homeless population; removing roadway debris; assisting disabled vehicles; and related activities. Patrolling assigned areas by automobile, bicycle, motorcycle, or on foot for the prevention and enforcement of crime and traffic laws; observing and evaluating situations; making arrests and/or writing tickets to citizens in violation of criminal or traffic laws; writing detailed reports, supplements, booking paperwork, field information cards, and search warrants. Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Minimum age requirement 21 years. Valid Arizona Class D Driver's License, with no felony convictions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (at job entry)
Education and Experience:

* Completion of an AZPOST-certified, open enrollment program within the past 3 years;
Special Requirements:
* This position has been identified as a safety-sensitive position by Human Resources, per State and/or Federal Law. Upon conditional offer of employment, the candidate selected will be required to undergo testing for alcohol and controlled substances;
* A thorough background investigation will also be conducted and will include a polygraph exam, psychological examination, an AZPOST medical examination, and testing for alcohol and controlled substances;

Reporting to the Director of Loss Prevention, this role plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our guests, associates, and hotel assets. Responsibilities
Safety Patrols: Conduct regular patrols of the hotel property, including guest areas, service areas, and grounds, to ensure a safe and secure environment for all guests and associates.
Incident Response: Respond promptly to house calls, guest and associate requests, and emergency situations. Provide first aid assistance to sick or injured individuals and ensure timely medical intervention if necessary.
Documentation & Reporting: Accurately complete all required documentation, including incident reports, witness statements, and daily activity logs. Follow up appropriately with involved parties.
Surveillance & Monitoring: Monitor security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed. Control access to the property by issuing and collecting visitor badges and conducting regular bag checks for associates.
Property Security: Assist the Director of Loss Prevention in maintaining and checking alarm systems, securing building doors, service areas, and delivery areas, and ensuring the proper function of safety and fire alarm systems.
Emergency Support: Act as a point of contact during emergencies, guiding guests and associates to safety and coordinating with hotel management. Familiarize yourself with all hotel safety procedures and protocols.
Conflict Resolution: Handle disturbances with a calm and professional demeanor, defusing situations to maintain a peaceful environment for guests and associates.
Team Collaboration: Participate in daily stand-up meetings, staff meetings, and training sessions. Communicate effectively with team members to share relevant information and updates from previous shifts.

Qualifications

The City of Chandler Police Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Police Officer Recruit. This is a regular, full-time, non-exempt position with benefits. The position work schedule is subject to a wide variety of shifts (i.e., day shift, swing shift, night shift, weekends, and holidays).

Starting Salary: $35.87 per hour
Hiring Incentive:
For those that are new to the City of Chandler - $3,500 paid in two installments, $1,750 paid upon hire with first paycheck and $1,750 paid upon successful completion of Probation. You will be required to complete a 12-month probationary period.
Test Date:
The following steps are required to participate in the Chandler Police Department physical fitness testing and oral interviews currently scheduled for TBD. If you do not complete the following steps, you will not be allowed to participate in the testing.
Written Examination:
After submitting your application, you will be contacted by the City of Chandler, Human Resources Department with complete instructions on how and when to complete the required written examination. The written examination is offered through the National Testing Network (NTN). The NTN offers full testing services for the position of Police Officer Recruit. Here are a few other important items.
After receiving written examination instructions from Human Resources, sign up to take the examination right away. Once you have taken the examination, be sure to share your results with the City of Chandler. Your examination results are good for 12-months; however, if you took the examination previously, you do not need to take it again. All applicants who receive a passing score on the examination, will be placed on the department's eligibility list.
Upon completion of your scheduled exam, scores are automatically forwarded to City of Chandler Police Department. Candidates who attain a passing score on the entry level exam will be placed on City of Chandler Police Department's eligibility list. The City of Chandler Police Department will contact candidates on the list and will invite them to participate in further stages of the selection process.
The NTN is a service provided to conduct entry level testing in a standardized, professional environment. The NTN service does not replace the City of Chandler Police Department's responsibility and decision making in the testing process. All candidate results are provided to City of Chandler Police Department where the final decisions are made.

After completing and passing the NTN written examination, applicants will be contacted by the City of Chandler, Human Resources Department with complete instructions on how and when to complete the AZPOST PH Form. Written Exam:

A thorough background investigation will be conducted on candidates who are being considered for employment. Position Description
The City of Tolleson is seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as Police Officers (Recruit). Police Officer Recruits attend the Police Academy and training sessions, and actively participate in all academy and training activities to learn the skills, knowledge, and functions required to become a sworn police officer. Police Officers are responsible for: learning and performing tasks employing patrol methods, community relations, courtroom procedures, fingerprinting, report preparation, physical agility and strength formulation, and other police officer-related duties; learning uses of various firearms and first aid methods; participating in field training with a senior Police Officer; operating miscellaneous equipment including emergency vehicles, radar, and breath alcohol analyzers; writing and filing daily activity reports with a training officer; assisting an officer in patrolling assigned areas of the City in a car, bicycle, or on foot; learning standard broadcasting procedures of a dispatch radio system; and performing related work as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and must be 21 years of age by academy graduation.
Above average physical conditioning; includes running, climbing, crawling, and possess the ability to pass and maintain an entry level officer's physical fitness requirements.

Supplemental information will be required for application to be considered. Qualified candidates will be invited to take their written exam at the Tolleson Police Department.
All candidates must complete the Police Officer Selection Test with a 70% or better score.
OR
Applicants who have obtained an Associate degree or higher or 60+ college credit hours may bypass the written exam.
If applicant wishes to use college course work in lieu of taking the written exam they must attach at minimum unofficial transcripts at time of application but be able to provide official transcripts during the background process.
The 60+ credit hours shall include a minimum of 15 semester units of general education courses as described below:
Natural Science (e.g. Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physical Anthropology, Physical Science, Physics)
Social Sciences (e.g. Cultural Anthropology, Economics, History, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology)
Humanities (e.g. Foreign Language, Humanities, Literature, Philosophy, Photography, Theater)
English Composition (Expository writing)

Under general supervision, performs a variety of law enforcement work associated with patrol, traffic enforcement, and investigations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess Arizona POST certification as a Peace Officer with no lapse of certified status and be in good standing with current or previous employer. Must be 21 years of age, a citizen of the United States, and meet or exceed the physical standards established by the Arizona P.O.S. T. Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License and be able to meet the Community's insurance carrier requirements. Must be able to successfully complete an extensive background check, including a polygraph test, psychological evaluation and medical exam.
Examples of Duties:
Patrols an assigned area of the Community in a radio-equipped vehicle checking businesses/residences, discovering/preventing criminal activities, and enforcing State/Community laws/ordinances.
Responds to calls involving automobile accidents, assaults, domestic disturbances, and other criminal activities/civil complaints to secure the scene, conduct preliminary investigations, and establish law and order.
Arrests, questions, and transports suspects and/or persons with outstanding arrest warrants to jail facilities.
Ensures that arrested persons are processed (booked) into jail in accordance with State and Federal guidelines and Police Department and jail procedures.
Prepares incident reports regarding all activities to facilitate preparation of prosecutable cases.
Secures/investigates crime scenes to ensure that the collection, preservation, and handling of physical evidence and property meets established professional and legal standards.
Gathers and records/preserves information and evidence.
Interviews/interrogates victims, suspects, and witnesses to obtain and verify information pertinent to the investigation and resolution of a variety of criminal/potentially criminal incidents.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge of Ak-Chin Indian Community laws/ordinances to be enforced.
Knowledge of State, Federal, and County statutes, codes, and ordinances to be enforced.

Knowledge of the equipment used in law enforcement, including weaponry, communications, and automotive equipment.
