POLICE OFFICER LATERAL SALARY/BENEFITS: Placement within the Police Officer Pay Plan will be based on experience and within the pay range of:
$30.0843/hour ($62,575.42 /year) - $42.3314/hour ($88,049.33/year).

* Patrols assigned areas; enforces State and local laws and ordinances; maintains a community presence and/or responds to calls for service and takes appropriate action
* Responds to calls related to the protection of life and property, traffic incidents, and other public safety emergencies
* Responds to calls which include domestic incidents, burglaries, juvenile disturbances, health and welfare assists, civil stand by, business and residential alarms, thefts, civil protection orders, bomb threats, hazardous material spill and other public safety incidents

Oral Board Interview/Chief's Interview
Candidates that pass the initial application review will be invited to an oral board interview and possibly Chief's interview. Tentative dates for oral boards are set for October 22nd and 23rd 2025. Job Summary:
This position provides armed security services to Silverbell Army Heliport (SBAHP) to protect against threats that would justify use of force, to include deadly force. Conducts physical security activities associated with installation access control and critical asset protection. Provides other physical security equipment and services necessary to secure ARNG resources, and personnel as approved by Army Operations Division Protection branch (ARNG-ODP).
Job Duties:
Responsibilities include:
• Control entry to and egress from the installation/facility via designated access control points (ACP) at the outer most perimeter of the boundary or cantonment area. Access control includes random inspections of privately owned vehicles and personnel entering DoD owned or controlled installations and facilities, including items in the vehicles and items that are carried by personnel.
• Provide armed installation security to ensure security of Mission Essential Vulnerable Areas (MEVAs). Answer and respond to dispatch calls from authorized authorities. Conduct and assist in traffic accident investigations and civil/criminal investigations.
• Inspect all types of commercial deliveries to include their drivers and occupants, entering DOD owned or controlled installations or facilities. Ensures all inspections are in accordance with Army regulations and instructions as applicable within State/Territory laws and statutes.
• Security checks of installation/facility perimeters, and sensitive or critical areas to counter criminal, terrorist, and hostile threats. Monitor Electronic Security Systems (ESS) and devices, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) associated with installation access control and critical asset protection.
• Support installations tenant units during all major incidents as directed. Conduct security guard services for Flight line operations at AASF #2, WAATS, and Peace Vanguard. Initiate and/or assist in the detention and/or apprehension of trespassers or persons identified as a risk to the agency (DEMAA and/or public persons within the immediate area of the installation and/or facility and detain if necessary.
• Monitor the installations 13 secure vaults containing sensitive equipment and munitions and/or respond to alarms from those vaults. Assist in the direction to evacuate the installation personnel and secure installation infrastructure during a natural disaster, terrorist incident, industrial accident, or any other emergency event requiring evacuation of personnel.
• Function as dispatch officer for on post emergency services and/or serve as first responder to an incident on the installation to preserve life, limb and eyesight and act IAW National Incident Management system to emergency response. Provide emergency escorts and access to external emergency responders.
• Provide information to civic/public and/or government identified visitors and direct traffic management through designated traffic plans and/or parking areas consistent with force protection measures as prescribed by regulation and/or installation policies. Operate and maintain emergency response equipment: such as Patrol vehicles, Fire extinguishers, AEDs, Generator Light sets, Traffic cones, Barricades, Radios, First Aid equipment, etc.

Key Responsibilities:
Repair Work Coordination:
Create, assign, and track multiple repair work requests across various facilities. Provide timely updates to the client and manage each task through to successful completion.
Preventative Maintenance Scheduling:
Develop and maintain a structured preventative maintenance (PM) schedule for all client-owned assets. Ensure all PM tasks-monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual-are completed on schedule. Submit inspection reports as required.
Data Management:
Maintain and regularly update internal databases to accurately reflect the status of all repair and PM activities. Ensure data integrity and accessibility for internal and client use.
Compliance Monitoring:
Ensure all employees and subcontractors maintain current background checks and security clearances in accordance with federal standards.
Reporting & Client Communication:
Compile and present monthly status reports summarizing all ongoing and completed work. Lead weekly client meetings to deliver updates, discuss progress, and address issues.
Subcontractor Relationship Management:
Maintain positive and professional working relationships with subcontractors to ensure efficient coordination and high-quality results.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in workflow management, facilities coordination, or maintenance operations
Hands-on experience with IBM Maximo or similar computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance tracking software

At this time, the Tucson Police Department has decided to waive the physical test during the selection process. While it is not required for this process, you will still be required to successfully complete the Arizona Peace Officers Standards (AZPOST) Physical Ability Test (PAT) prior to graduation from the academy.
Although the physical test will be waived during the screening process, all applicants preparing to enter the Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Training Center (SALETC) program are expected to arrive in shape and be prepared to participate in a rigorous physical fitness program.
Information will be provided to applicants at the written assessment on how to best prepare for the physical aspects of the academy.
The Police Officer Recruit Pre-Academy is anticipated to start on Monday, June 15, 2026.
Important details regarding the Police Officer Recruit position:
* The starting rate for this position is $30.34 per hour.
* Incumbents will be required to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.

* The training process is extensive; incumbents will attend an academy that requires a high level of commitment and time dedication.
* After completing the academy, candidates will continue their training in the field under the direct guidance of experienced field training officers.
* The probation period is 18 months.

Position Summary
The Police Officer Recruit position at the City of Tucson's Police Department trains at the Police Academy as a new police recruit to learn the skills and functions of a Police Officer, under the guidance of experienced police personnel.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Police Sergeant. This position does not supervise.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Attends lectures on law enforcement related topics, with a course of study that may include Arizona Revised Statutes, constitutional law, policies and procedures, and crime scene management. Studies material presented in lectures to ensure satisfactory performance in required examinations.
* Performs police related training tasks such as arrest and control tactics, defensive tactics, firearms proficiency, technical vehicle operation, and emergency response driving.
* Practices various scenarios related to law enforcement duties; scenarios may include crimes in progress, crime scene management, and other situations they may encounter as Police Officers.
* Performs aerobic and anaerobic exercises to increase strength and endurance. Participates in physical activities such as running, weightlifting, bodyweight exercises, and other cardiovascular activities.
* Completes multiple academic exams with a passing score. Completes and passes proficiency evaluations, which may include firearms, driving, and defensive tactics. Completes Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training (AZ POST) Police Officer Physical Agility Test (POPAT) with a passing score. Completes and passes AZ POST comprehensive exam.
* Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.
