Hourly Rate: $21.14 Schedule: Monday - Friday (must be flexible with hours) Job Summary: The FT Air Courier Messenger is responsible for escorting customer cargo/liability from plane side to customer location and to/from the Brinks facility to customer locations while providing armed security for the same. This position functions in an armed environment and requires the enforcement of rules to protect the premises and property of Brink's. Additionally this role functions to protect and ensure the safety of customer and armored vehicles in transit, as well as the safety of persons on the premises of Brink's and its customers, including armored vehicles. Finally this position requires the selected candidate to be able to provide outstanding customer service to all BGS customers when delivering liability and assisting them with their shipping needs. Key Responsibilities: Receive daily delivery routes and work closely with branch leadership both on the BGS and CIT side of the business to ensure all paperwork and liability related documentation is accurate prior to leaving the branch. Maintain a position on tarmac in order to monitor shipments being transferred on and off of the aircraft. Provide secured delivery of all customer liability and ensure that each customer receives outstanding level of service during each transaction/interaction. Ensure that all liability is appropriately secured and maintained inside and outside the company vehicle. Assist the location Sort Operation as necessary in the movement of liability and other secured valuables from the facility to the vehicles and back. Ensure that all DOT regulations are maintained and followed as well as all traffic regulations and relative guidelines. Enforce and report all security or safety violations to the Supervisor of Operations or Operations Manager as well as any unusual and suspicious situations that have occurred during daily assignments. Provide security by adhering to the General Security Regulations and other directives handed down by the management Cross-train and perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 6 months of experience as a courier or guard working a secured logistics environment or where valuable liability is stored and managed. Must be a minimum of 21 years of age A current & valid driver's license. Satisfy all applicable Department of Transportation requirements A valid weapons permit or ability to pass applicable weapons licensing requirements. A valid guard card or ability to obtain a guard card or any other required licenses Ability to lift at least 50 pounds on a consistent and regular basis throughout the assigned shift. Ability to work weekends and flexible range of hours as needed including holidays. The City of Boynton Beach's Police Officers are responsible for maintaining peace and safety, protecting life and property, and promoting community engagement and trust for the third largest municipality in Palm Beach County with an estimated population of approximately 75,000 residents. Boynton Beach Police Officers serve a highly diverse and multicultural community, which includes African Americans, Hispanics, French Creoles, Indigenous Americans, and Asians among its more than 75,000 residents. Officers carry out these responsibilities by: patrolling an assigned area; responding to emergency calls; resolving conflicts; engaging in community policing and community relations, investigating crimes; rendering medical assistance; writing reports (using, software, computers, portable technology devices, and mobile data computers); handling crises or stressful situations, which may involve juveniles, the elderly, or the disabled; testifying in court; and enforcing Florida State laws and City Ordinances. Officers do this individually and sometimes as a member of a team, under direction of a supervisor. Once Officers have patrol experience they may be eligible to serve as part of a specialized unit (community policing, bicycle patrol, marine/boat patrol, motorcycle traffic enforcement, narcotics, criminal investigation, crime prevention, and others).     ***** MUST INCLUDE ATTACHED EMPLOYEMENT APPLICATION TO ONLINE SUBMISSION***** NATURE OF WORK An employee in this classification may perform varied assignments in motorized patrol, foot patrol, bike patrol, traffic control and enforcement, accident investigation, preliminary and follow-up investigation at crime scenes, serving writs in criminal proceedings, and assisting in public safety education programs. Work involves an element of personal danger and high levels of physical, emotional, and mental stress to deal with people in various situations. Incumbents must be able to act without direct supervision and exercise independent judgment in meeting emergencies. Situations often arise where incumbents will have the responsibility for making decisions regarding the use of deadly force in protecting citizens and themselves without the opportunity for prior supervisory advice or assistance. Routine assignments are received from superior officers who review work methods and results through reports, inspections, and discussions. Police Officers are required to respond to any emergency and/or criminal situation that they observe while on or off duty and function as a Police Officer until relieved by regular on-duty units. Illustrative Tasks: Patrols in the jurisdiction of the City in a radio cruiser car to preserve law and order, to prevent and discover the commission of crime, and to enforce traffic regulations. Answers calls and complaints involving homicide, rape, robbery, burglary, larceny and any emergencies or disturbances that arise which may require police intervention. Administers first aid, conducts preliminary investigations, gathers evidence, obtains witnesses, and makes arrests; testifies in court. Conducts preliminary investigations involving missing persons and juveniles. Conducts accident investigations providing first aid for injured and taking safeguards to prevent further accidents; interviews principals and witnesses; takes written statements; examines vehicles and roadways; takes necessary street measurements; clears the scene of obstruction and wreckage. Prepares investigative reports and maintains necessary records for presentation in court. From specialized training in the areas of Social, Cultural and Inter-personal relationships, officer will be called upon to mediate family crisis situations to avoid destructive ends. Works proactively to resolve neighborhood concerns by establishing partnerships with residents, merchants, schools, churches, community-based organizations, governmental agencies/offices and other groups in the designated patrol area in accordance with the Department's Community Policing mission. Utilizes crime analysis data to address crime problems in their assigned districts or zones. Field Training Officers have the responsibility for instructing, supervising and evaluating those novice police officers that have successfully completed their formal academy training, thereby providing them with a period of internship. Must attend annual firearm training Complete 40hrs mandatory training every 4 years Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Successful completion of police recruit training; or any acceptable related combination of training and experience. Completed an FDLE Commission-certified training school and successfully passed the State Officer Certification Examination (SOCE) Must possess a valid Florida Drivers License
