FRONTLINE NATIONAL EXAMINATION: (qualifying) includes multiple-choice video simulations and computer administered test in which candidates must complete the following three test components: a video-based human relations test, report writing, and reading comprehension. The examination is administered by the National Testing Network. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE FRONTLINE EXAM UNTIL YOU RECEIVE AN E-MAIL STATING THAT YOU MEET THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS. Candidates need a score of 60% or higher on the Video Section, and an overall score of 70% or higher to pass this examination.
The City of Santa Ana is now accepting PELLETB scores from other agencies. The PELLETB exam must have been completed within one year of application date in order for scores to be used in lieu of the Frontline National Examination. The minimal acceptable score is 46.
The next three selection components (Physical Agility Exam, Oral Interview Examination and Background Orientation) are all consolidated in one full day of testing.
2. PHYSICAL AGILITY EXAM: (qualifying) will evaluate each applicant's physical strength, agility and endurance in the following timed components:
* 1.5 MILE RUN The 1.5 mile run must be completed within 14 minutes to pass the City of Santa Ana physical agility test.
* 500 YARD RUN Run 500 yards
* SOLID FENCE CLIMB Run 5 yards to a 6-foot solid fence, climb over fence, and continue running another 25 yards
* CHAIN LINK FENCE Run 5 yards to a 6-foot chain link fence, climb over fence, and continue running another 25 yards
* OBSTACLE COURSE/AGILITY RUN Run a 99-yard obstacle course consisting of several sharp turns, a number of curb-height obstacles, and a 34-inch high obstacle
* BODY DRAG Lift and drag 165 pound lifelike dummy 32 feet

Each of the above events are timed. Candidate's performance times are converted to points and summed. Candidates must successfully complete the 1.5 mile run AND accumulate a minimum total score of 384 points in the remaining five events to pass the physical agility test.

Under general direction, the Police Officer is required to protect students, faculty, staff, campus visitors, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry; enforce laws and traffic regulations; apprehend violators; provide general information and assistance to the public; and assist in criminal investigations. Duties at this level require a working knowledge of law enforcement methods and procedures, criminal codes and laws, and investigative techniques and procedures. These specialized skills are in the areas of Clery Act crimes and Title IX incidents.
The Police Officer performs general patrol and operational police duties and may assist in investigations or as a member on special teams or task forces. May receive specialized on-the-job training to perform these specialized functions. Police Officers patrol campus buildings and grounds by foot or by vehicle, as well as patrol a one-mile jurisdictional boundary from campus property as mandated by law; control crowds during assemblies or disturbances; guard property; investigate and prepare reports on accidents, property damage, fires, law violations, thefts and disturbances of the peace; and gather evidence, make arrests and appear in court as required. Essential Qualifications

POLICE OFFICER SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The salary for Police Officer is $7,586 - $10,117 per month, plus very generous benefits and salary incentives.
Retirement Benefits
An employee who is a Classic member of CalPERS or a current member of another California public retirement system who is hired on or after January 1, 2013, will be enrolled in the CalPERS 3.0% @ age 50 benefit formula with one year final compensation. Employees contribute 12.0% of salary on a pre-tax basis as their full share of their member contribution. Employees do not pay into Social Security.
Effective January 1, 2013, newly hired sworn employees who are new CalPERS members, as defined by the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act of 2013 (PEPRA), will be enrolled in the CalPERS 2.7% at age 57 defined benefit plan with three year final compensation, in accordance with Public Employees' Pension Reform Act of 2013 (PEPRA). New members will be required to pay half of normal retirement costs of pension reportable salary as their full share of their member contribution.

Longevity/Retention Pay- Officers with over 10 years of sworn service receive $200 per month, officers with over 15 years of sworn service receive $300 per month, officers with over 20 years of sworn service receive $400 per month, and officers with over 25 years of sworn service receive $500 per month.
Bilingual Pay- If qualified, officers may receive $300 per month.
Other Benefits
Orange Police Officers work a 3/12 schedule for Patrol Officers and a 4/10 schedule for all special assignments. Employees receive 105 hours per year of holiday accrual, and 80 hours of vacation for the first 4 years of service. Vacation accrual increases to 120 hours upon 5 years of service, and increases to a maximum of 220 hours after 30 years of service. The City also pays court standby pay. In addition to retirement, the City offers an optional Deferred Compensation Plan.

Under general direction, the Police Officer is required to protect students, faculty, staff, campus visitors, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry; enforce laws and traffic regulations; apprehend violators; provide general information and assistance to the public; and assist in criminal investigations. Duties at this level require a working knowledge of law enforcement methods and procedures, criminal codes and laws, and investigative techniques and procedures. These specialized skills are in the areas of Clery Act crimes and Title IX incidents.
The Police Officer performs general patrol and operational police duties and may assist in investigations or as a member on special teams or task forces. May receive specialized on-the-job training to perform these specialized functions. Police Officers patrol campus buildings and grounds by foot or by vehicle, as well as patrol a one-mile jurisdictional boundary from campus property as mandated by law; control crowds during assemblies or disturbances; guard property; investigate and prepare reports on accidents, property damage, fires, law violations, thefts and disturbances of the peace; and gather evidence, make arrests and appear in court as required. Work assignments may include enforcing the law, crime suppression activities, and issuing traffic citations, administering first aid to injured persons, and providing security at special events. Police Officers also may receive training and/or be delegated responsibility for additional work assignments that include: range master, drug recognition expert, canine handler, field training, defensive tactics instruction, motorcycle patrol, bicycle patrol, special evidence technician, crime prevention specialist, community relations programs, and a member of a critical response or special reaction team.
As a member of the CSUF Police Department (PD), supports efforts in promoting teamwork and a healthy work environment. The officer will contribute towards supporting a safe, inclusive, and welcoming university for Titans to thrive. Further, will represent the CSUF PD in campus engagement activities, campus events, and safety presentations by providing excellent customer service to support the safety needs of the campus community. Performs other administrative safety functions and other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
High school diploma or the equivalent and graduation from a Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certified training program, including possession of a Basic Course Certificate. Working knowledge of current law enforcement methods and procedures. Working knowledge of current criminal codes and laws. Effective interpersonal skills to resolve a wide variety of sensitive situations. Possession of effective oral and written communication skills in order to write clear and comprehensive reports. Demonstrated ability to think and act effectively in emergency and sensitive situations.

* Investigates crimes against persons and property; interviews victims and witnesses; searches for, evaluates and secures/collects evidence; and arrests suspected perpetrator(s).

PHYSICAL TASKS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Work is performed both inside and outside in seasonal climate and weather conditions. Exposure to slippery surfaces, oily conditions, dust, dirt, and odors are conditions frequently encountered. An incumbent must constantly work with noise from traffic and police radio. Position requires ability to work in cramped spaces or run, jump, vault or climb as needed to apprehend a suspect. Physical duties of the position may expose an incumbent to blood, other bodily fluids, or communicable diseases.

This examination will be a panel interview will be conducted by subject matter experts.
Eligible List: The names of those candidates who complete selection testing with acceptable results will be placed on the Eligible List for the position of Recruit/Police Officer. LICENSING FEES:
As you will be working in a casino, registration and licensing fees are required by the Department of Justice for a comprehensive registration process and background check, including DOJ/FBI fingerprinting and clearance from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.
Fees are administered by the California Gambling Control Commission for the issuance of the state badge, with a fee of $164 for this process.
An additional fee of $10 is required by the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.
We offer a defined payment plan to assist with these fees and the licensing process, as well as an incentive reimbursement of $164.
Two separate fingerprinting rolling fees are required.

As Security, you are Ojos Locos' first line of defense. We ask that you make it a priority, in addition to securing the facility, that you check IDs, pat downs and manage guests demonstrating aggressive behavior and/or behave in a disruptive, harassing way, possibly breaching the law or the rules of Ojos Locos. Screening patrons (weapons/illegal substances)
Report incidents identifying who, what, why, when and how. These reports should be emailed at the end of the shift.
Any use of force should be reported immediately to the Director of Security and to the above email by the end of shift.
Monitor restaurant premises with walk throughs, make your presence known, check restroom and outdoor exit areas and any other areas of concealment.
Monitor the parking lot from the main door or the immediate area of our facility.
Make sure no guests are asking in areas that are not designated for smoking.
Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Monitor coworker activity for safety and assistance when necessary.
Acknowledge and execute the Security's Key items to protect Ojos Locos Agreement.
There are three positions within Security: check ID's, screen patrons, and monitoring the premises/patrons.
The expected work hours are as scheduled, typically between the hours of 5 pm until 3am Thursday through Saturday and 5pm until 1 am Sunday through Wednesday. You are responsible for clocking in and out during each shift. Failure to do so, may be grounds for discipline, up to and including termination.

To perform law enforcement and crime prevention work; enforce State and local traffic regulations; perform investigative work; and participate in and provide support and assistance to special department crime prevention and enforcement programs. Starting pay for Academy Trained entry is at "A" step of the pay range.
Education Incentive Pay: An additional 7% of base pay for an Associate's degree or equivalent units (60) OR Intermediate California (CA) P.O.S.T. Certificate. An additional 10.5% for a Bachelor's degree or equivalent units (124) OR Advanced CA P.O.S.T. Certificate.
