Responsibilities * Receives, evaluates, and prioritizes requests for security support * Dispatches, monitors, and closes out security service calls that come into the SOC * Utilizes two-way radio communication and radio dispatch software * Communicates with patients, visitors, providers, and staff in person and by phone * Works with various security systems to include CCTV * Works with Microsoft Office products to create/maintain data and reports * Utilizes mass notification systems and overhead paging apparatuses * Utilizes multiple alarm monitoring systems to include infant abduction alarms * Creates KH ID badges and troubleshoots systems associated with badge creation and management, to include badges for employees, visitors, students and vendors * Ensures all security systems and devices are functioning properly through testing and preventative maintenance while maintaining appropriate records and documentation * May serve as a liaison between security and law enforcement with regard to surveillance investigations and documentation for court * Assists in investigations as needed per the Security Manager and Human Resources * Maintains vehicle registration information for employees and providers * Assists the Security Manager, as well as other department leaders with related security support * Regularly works with security Office Coordinator and assists with badging duties * Troubleshoots access control issues regarding doors and badges * Participates in meetings regarding badging and other security issues as requested * Familiar with standards, concepts, practices, and procedures within the hospital security field * Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals * Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function * Performs other related duties as assigned * Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned Requirements and Minimum Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent preferred * Must successfully pass an extensive background investigation * Prior dispatch/control center experience in a public safety environment preferred * Experience in face-to-face customer service interactions * Prior security, law enforcement, military, fire, and EMS experience is preferred * Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal relationship skills * Ability to multi-task and prioritize a variety of functions and services to meet customer and organizational needs * Must maintain certification for MOAB * BLS required * Must have valid driver's license and good driving record * Must be 23 years of age or older for auto insurance purposes * Knowledge of the Hospital Incident Command System * Successful completion of IAHSS Basic training program within the first 90 days of employment required Working Conditions * Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position * Typical equipment used in a clinical job * Must be able to stoop, crouch, or bend * Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment * Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information * Must be able to lift and move up to 10 lbs Continue your career with Kootenai Health!
