Under general supervision, the Code Enforcement Officer performs inspections, improvements, and rehabilitation of environmental hazards in public and private premises by determining the presence of fire or health hazards, nuisance violations, unsafe building conditions, and violations of nay fire, health, or building regulation, statute, or ordinance. Employee performs inspections of private, public and commercial property for environmental health hazards. Employee assists in resolving public health hazards, public safety and property protection. Employee has daily contact with the public frequently involving sensitive matters demanding tact and diplomacy.
