Will be responsible for performing random BA's and UA's of residents and other assigned individuals and provide accurate reporting of test results. 8. Prepare and present security related briefings to staff personnel as necessary to comply with mandatory training requirements. 9. May assist with proper accountability, packing, shipping and timely dissemination of resident property and confiscated items left in the Center. Investigate lost or missing property. 10. Qualifications and Skills: · High School graduate or equivalent. · Must meet all basic criteria of a Compliance Officer. · Must possess basic understanding in techniques of interpersonal relations with ability to establish, understand and be sensitive to resident needs. Must be able to work effectively with diverse personalities and be able to approach problems and situations in a non-threatening manner. · Skills and experience working with the incarcerated and re-entry work. Trained in Loss Prevention and investigation preferred. · Ability to learn, understand and enforce security procedures, rules and policies, follow instructions and problem solve. · Effective working knowledge of Total Offender Management System (TOM) and other computer systems. · Effective verbal and written communication. Compensation: $21.45 per hour The Transition Center is designed as a structured pre-release program for adult male and female offenders who are within 24 months of parole eligibility or one year of discharge date. It allows residents participating in the program to re-integrate into the community while learning necessary life skills to maintain a crime-free lifestyle. The Center allows residents a period of time to establish employment and/or training, establish budgeting and money management skills, begin a savings plan, find housing and participate in counseling relevant to specific areas to aid in their transition into the community. The Transition Center has a five-phase program beginning at the orientation level. Each phase has a minimum time frame of participation with graduated levels of responsibility. The resident assumes his/her own case goals as they progress through the program. The Transition Center opened its doors as a male pre-release facility in March of 1984. At that time, the Center utilized the main floor for office space, kitchen and dining facilities, and a lounge area. the upper floor was used for living quarters. In 1990 the basement of the original facility was remodeled into office space, a conference room, TV room, hobby room and additional restroom facilities. In 1993 the Center undertook a major expansion which more than doubled the capacity and usable space in the Center. A women's program was added in October of 1996 with the purchase and renovation of building adjacent to the existing facility. In 1997 an expansion project involving the women's facility provided for an increase in service rooms and greater flexibility in programming. In 1998 the men's facility added to the wing completed in 1993 by extending that area to the South and increasing the Center by another 7500 square feet. Throughout the years, the Transition Center has taken pride in its visual improvements to the building and grounds. Landscaping efforts are ongoing as we endeavor to become an appealing addition to the neighborhood.

Nature of Work * TEST DATE WILL BE JANUARY 7, 2026 Responsible for providing law enforcement services by conducting field patrols of an assigned area of the city. Work is performed under the general direction of a Police Lieutenant, Sergeant, Field Training Officer or other supervisory employee. Education and Experience * High School diploma or equivalent certificate issued by the superintendent of public instruction, an appropriate issuing agency, another state or the federal government. NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS * Must be citizen of the United States * Minimum of 18 years of age. * Must reside within 35 road miles from the GFPD building. Any greater distance requires prior authorization from the Chief of Police. * Must be determined to be of good moral character, as determined by a thorough background investigation to include fingerprint submission and subject to criminal and traffic background check. * No Convictions for which imprisonment could have occurred in a federal or state penitentiary. * Ability to achieve POST certification within one year of date of hire or hold a valid Montana POST certificate or a POST certificate from another state qualifying for Montana reciprocity. * Ability to achieve minimum qualifications with all duty weapons and non-lethal tools. * Ability to pass a color vision test. * Employee must possess or have the ability to obtain valid Montana driver's license.
