The Ballpark Security Guard position is responsible for providing game-day security services at BayCare Ballpark as well as year-round coverage on and off-season. In addition, this person will also be responsible for monitoring security at Carpenter Complex. Candidates must be willing to work event-based hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as the ballpark's schedule requires. This is a customer facing position that requires a high level of customer service, while maintaining the safety and security of our ballpark for our guests. Incumbent must be trustworthy and dependable in order to handle sensitive situations with care and diligence. This position will be located on-site in Clearwater, FL. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform scheduled and random checks of designated areas throughout the facility to check for any security breaches. Verify players, coaches, and staff at various checkpoints throughout the facility. Assist on major and minor league game days with crowd control throughout the ballpark and training facility. Assist the maintenance staff in securing an area during maintenance emergencies. Collaborate with other members of the corporate security team to ensure that the facility is always secure. Communicate with other team members via two-way radio. Coordinate with local police and fire departments and interpret fire alarm panels to guide emergency responders during alarm events. Patrol premises regularly to ensure they are secure while navigating stairs as well as operation of a golf cart. Follow established security protocols while using sound initiative and good judgment. Other duties as assigned. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Physically able to navigate a large facility, including prolonged standing, walking & regular stair ascent/descent. Willingness to work in varying outdoor weather conditions (sun, rain, wind, hot/cold temperature). Police, military, or security experience preferred, but not required. Valid driver's license and desire to operate a motor vehicle required. Individual must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication and have excellent interpersonal skills. As a Security Specialist, you are responsible for providing critical security and administrative support to management. Introduction This is highly responsible work in developing and supervising security and safety programs and procedures for the Waste to Energy (WTE) Facility. Nature Of Work The employee in this class is responsible for tasks of more than average difficulty which include: developing and supervising security and safety programs and procedures; ensuring that operations and activities are in compliance with departmental, city, state, federal, and OSHA regulations; and providing security and safety training for all WTE employees. Under direction, employees will maintain hurricane, emergency response, process safety management, all plant safety program, risk management, and vulnerability assessment plans/information up to date. The employee must work closely with department managers, emergency coordination, police, fire and City Risk Management personnel. Considerable initiative and independent judgment are expected of this employee. Supervision oversite of employees on 24/7 shifts is required; therefore, the employee must be able to plan and schedule appropriately. Essential Functions * Welcome and assist patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner while providing outstanding customer service. * Monitor CCTV surveillance systems and security alarms to detect suspicious activities. * Monitor the Clinic Cooper-Atkins Temptrak refrigeration tracking systems to ensure all units are functioning as intended, in order to protect the medical product contained therein. If warranted, respond and take appropriate corrective action as defined by policy. This may include secure and stable transportation of the product to an alternate area and temperature-controlled environment. * Conduct regular patrols of the clinic premises to identify security vulnerabilities and ensure safety protocols are followed. * Control access to the facility by verifying identification and issuing visitor passes. * Respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies, including medical incidents, security breaches, or fire alarms. * Collaborate with healthcare staff and law enforcement during incident investigations or security incidents. * Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations and record them in the department report writing system. * Enforce Clinic policies and procedures related to safety and security. * Provide excellent communication and problem-solving support in high-pressure situations. * Stay up-to-date with training on security systems, regulations, and emergency response protocols, by way of departmental training and the Watson Clinic Center for Education. Introduction This is police work. Nature Of Work An employee in this class is responsible for performing tasks of average difficulty involving the protection of life and property. After completion of an initial training period, the employee is responsible for enforcing federal, state and local laws, and performing related police activities. When assigned to the selective enforcement unit: participates in crowd and traffic control at major events; assists vice control section in investigation and enforcement activities; utilizes informants in latent investigations; participates in stakeouts and surveillance of burglary and robbery targets in high crime areas; conducts prostitution, gambling and other criminal investigations as required; performs business license application investigations; assists in processing special event permit applications; processes and investigates requests by alcoholic establishments to employ extra duty officers; works in conjunction with federal, state and other local agencies to coordinate joint police activities; protects political candidates and other dignitaries. When assigned to marine patrol: enforces navigable water laws within the city limits; makes safety checks for required equipment on all vessels; maintains police boat and all equipment used; aids disabled vessels and passengers; patrols all boat races and sailing regattas. When assigned to the information desk: assists the public by given general information; verifies ownership of impounded vehicles and gives authorization for release; checks impounded vehicles in the computer for stolen notices; maintains records, makes copies and distributes as necessary. Performs work related to the purposes of the Department as required.
