Duties
During the course of their careers, Uniformed Division Officers carry out assignments in protection. Duties include:
Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.
Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required.
Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
Be at least age 20 and less than age 37 at the time you receive a conditional offer of employment, unless you have previous service in a Federal Civilian Law Enforcement position covered by special law enforcement or firefighter retirement provisions, including early or mandatory retirement. Applicants with veteran's preference must receive a conditional offer of employment prior to reaching age 40 to continue in the application process.
Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory.
Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye.

POSITION PURPOSE:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE POSITION:
Weight must be proportionate to height, vision must be correctable to 20/20 in both eyes, with glasses or contact lenses, and must have acceptable sensory capabilities in hearing and olfactory senses.
Tasks involve the regular, and at times sustained, performance of heavier physical tasks such as walking over rough or uneven surfaces, bending, stooping, working in confined spaces, lifting or carrying moderately heavy (20 to 50 pounds) items and occasionally very heavy (100 pounds or over) items. A Police Officer assigned to Patrol operates under the direct supervision of the Patrol Commander and Patrol Sergeant. The Patrol Officer is sworn to enforce all laws and ordinances for which the Department is responsible; to protect the lives and property of all persons; and to maintain peace and order within the Village of Mundelein. When properly required to do so the Patrol Officer will provide any service that is necessary for the furtherance of the Department's mission and objectives.
The Patrol Officer will take the appropriate police actions, within the limits of legal authority, whenever and wherever required. The Patrol Officer will maintain professional decorum and will display a proper attitude in all dealings with citizens, superiors and other Department personnel. Work Schedule
Normally, police officers work an average of eighty hours per two-week period, which amounts to 2,080 hours annually. Currently, the patrol division works 12-hour shifts, which are re-bid on an annual basis.

Maximum benefit is 75% of final pay after 30 years of service.

Mandatory Retirement
- Mandatory retirement age is 65. Employee will be vested in retirement plan with a minimum of eight (8) years of service.

Final Pay
- Final pay is defined as the salary attached to the rank held upon separation from active service.

Voluntary Retirement:
* Minimum Retirement Age 55 with a minimum of 10 years of service.

* “Final Average Salary” (used to determine pension annuity) is based on an average salary based on the best 8 out of the last 10 years of service.
* Final Average Salary is capped at $130,166.37, increased annually by the lesser of 3% (of the salary amount) or 1/2 of the annual increase in the CPI-U. [2]
* Survivor benefits reduced to 66 2/3% of deceased employee's salary at time of death (subject to cost-of-living adjustments).
* Cost of living adjustments beginning the year after the retiree or survivor turns age 60 with annual increases of the lesser of 3% or ½ of the annual increase in the CPI-U.
* Retirement pension calculated by multiplying 2.5% for each year of service by the “Final Average Salary,” capped at 75%.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants for pre-certified appointment to the position of Police Officer must meet the following minimum qualifications and requirements at the time of application:

Must be currently employed as a Full-Time Certified Police Officer. Prior Law Enforcement experience must include job duties and responsibilities similar to those of a Glenview Police Officer.
Substantiation of having passed most recent law enforcement Field Training Program. If a Law Enforcement employer does not have a formal Field Training program, an official letter from the highest ranking member of the department (most commonly the Chief), stating the applicant has met the department's training requirements may be accepted. Additionally, this requirement may be waived by the Board in circumstances where the verified years of service with a law enforcement employer support the completion of the Field Training program.

Selection Process

Job Description:
SUMMARY
This is a hybrid position with dual responsibilities as a Route Security Officer and Route Technician. The primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to, providing safety and security to employees and property, both internally and externally; surveying and assessing potential risks and threats; setting redemption loads for video gaming and redemption terminals, replenishing cassettes; maintaining and servicing video gaming and amusement equipment owned/operated by Accel Entertainment and located in contracted establishments; enforcing established rules and procedures intended to protect employees and customers; assisting law enforcement in the investigative process; recommending improvements for security operations to the Director of Security, as well as assisting in other areas as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide overwatch and physical security to collection teams
Drive a follow vehicle and provide overwatch security to collections teams while in transit; maintain competent vehicle operations and obey all traffic laws
Maintain situational and tactical awareness throughout the shift
Preform a rapid site survey of the location the collection team is entering and make a rapid and accurate decision regarding safety concerns
Continually monitor the tactical situation and make accurate and effective evaluations regarding team safety
With the use of company provided vehicle, deliver and collect cassettes to and from customer locations, per assigned route schedule
Drive company vehicles, including various sized cargo vans, sedans, and SUVs throughout the entirety of scheduled shift
Complete necessary paperwork to properly document access to VGTs and RTs as well as the movement of Accel property to and from customer locations
Adhere to established SOP regarding redemption terminal loading and video gaming terminal collections process
Remain alert and always prepared, follow established safety and security protocols, and watch for the accidental mishandling of packages that might result in loss
Maintain continuous communication with security personnel while on route
Return all valuables handled throughout the daily scheduled route
Maintain all certifications, licenses, and training requirements
Respond to workplace violence incidents using appropriate levels of force
Provide first aid to victims at the appropriate level corresponding to their training
Display a welcoming and positive attitude to all persons
Respond to weather, natural disaster, structural emergencies, fires, etc.
Assist in the event of an evacuation by directing employees to evacuation points
Take photos of suspicious persons, vehicles, or situations and distribute via Slack or to a security supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS
Active duty or retired certified Illinois law enforcement officer
Minimum of 4 years law enforcement experience
4 or more years of private security experience required
Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
Versatility and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

Base Pay Range:

This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The base salary will depend on a number of factors such as: qualifications, experience level, and skillset.

Supervision:

* Lateral transfers may be any previously full-time sworn officer who is currently certified and can receive a waiver by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board or within another state so long as the State of Illinois recognizes the certification.
* Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field, or a combination of college education and experience, or equivalent experience.*

* Possess a valid Illinois driver's license.
