UMKC is hiring for unarmed Security Officers for the Health Sciences and Volker Campuses. The Security Officer positions will assist the University Police Officers in providing a safe environment and prevention of crime. The Security Officers will patrol the campus buildings and grounds to deter crime (primarily the University libraries) and performing the following duties: * Assists with the opening and closing procedures of buildings and classrooms * Assists with non-law enforcement calls for service * Be visible to the University community and assist them as necessary * Provide safety escorts * Operate a handheld radio to call for police assistance as needed * Perform other non-law enforcement duties as assigned Shift Shifts will vary, some evening, weekend, and/or holiday hours are required.
