Department is within the Florida State University department of Public Safety. Responsibilities Responsible for implementing security operations on Florida State University's campus or designated area. Provides a uniform presence in the prevention of criminal, unsafe or potentially dangerous activity through a combination of foot, bicycle or motorized vehicle patrol by observation and analysis of any suspicious persons and incidents. This is in addition to the referral of persons who appear to be mentally disturbed or disoriented. Primarily patrols main campus parking lots and parking garages. Provides assistance to motorist with a disabled vehicle (battery jumps). Makes checks of buildings that have explosive, corrosive, toxic chemicals and/or radioactive material.
